Now, I know very little about this show beyond the fact that it already has a bad rap, as the mother in the video herself says, but this, you just can't ignore.

The parents of a 3 year old girl dressed her up as Julia Robert's character from Pretty Woman, who is a prostitute. The girl's mother's justification is that Julia Roberts is her favorite actoress. So, of course you pick the movie where she is a hooker as the costume for your little girl.

What disturbs me is the audience actually claps while the judges seem amused.

I don't like or understand pageants, but because I don't understand them I refrain from critiscizing them. If someone legitimately wants to dress up like that, then let them. It is none of my concern. ALTHOUGH (and this is a big "although") children at the age of 3 should not be made to dress up as such. They are not old enough to comprehend what or why they are dressed the way they are.

Pageants make me sick as it is (it is not okay to be smart) but this is just criminal. I would love to watch CPS raid one of these pageants and take all the poor kids away.

Aren't you overreacting just a tad bit ? The girl in no way looks like a prostitute , it's just because the judges say ' julia robert's in pretty woman ' that you say she's dressed as a prostitute ( i also realised the video on youtube is named like that ) . Had she said , she played julia roberts in any other of her films ( while still wearing the same cloths ) it would have gotten absolutly no reaction .

Yeah i hate our society too , but because people like to create problems where there'S none.

Perhaps it is a slight over reaction, but the thing is, that the parents specifically said Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, and she plays a prostitute in that movie, therefore, they are dressing her as a prostitute. It's really hard to not make that kind of connection in your head, y'know?

before even clicking the link I have to ask . . . which one dressed their child like a prostitute? I mean what's the rules demarking ONLY one set of parents as doing it . . . far as I can tell they ALL dress their kids like hookers for those pageants.
