I think the bigger crime isn't that the mother dressed her daughter up as the prositute from Pretty Woman, but that her mother dressed her up as a character played by Julia Roberts. If that doesn't screw up a kid I don't know what will.
But yeah, as everyone has said these pageants serve no real purpose, well no real useful purpose to the kids anyways, as they usually don't always understand why they're doing what they're doing, which makes it all the more troublesome when the don't win and the mother takes it out on them. It's pretty much one of those pageants for middle-aged women who aren't attractive or skilled enough to show anything off, so they just parade their child around as a fill-in, which I find to be bull shit. Your child is exactely that, your CHILD, not a young blank surogate for yourself, but someone who will later grow into a real adult, so why should they grow to be you?
