Pretty good... though I wish the last question was a little more indept... the question as to whether or not all video games are addictive is more complex than yes or no... I mean in some sense human beings have a tendancy to form strong habits, fascination and addictions with lots of different substance and mediums... whether physically or psychologically... and as far as games go it really depends on the core focus of the design as to whether or not the average player would feel the urge to keep playing out of interest or adiction...<.<
we're still a bunch of people on a website. where are we from? what's our age? do we live alone or with a family? what's our income level? so many unknown variables... you can't make a statement about any population here (scientifically speaking of course).Nomadiac said:

I feel as though you are trying to link anti-social behavior to compulsive gaming disorder (yay I got to make something up), however I am not sure what the end result you are expecting to be. I have a feeling that the results will be largely inconclusive. You may find a tendency towards one result, but only by a margin. Done, made me realise how little I actually play games these days and how my attitude to relationships has hardly changed from when I played a lot of games to now.

However, the first set of questions about grouping in multiplayer gaming is a bit off as you can play, I'm taking it as MMOs as that is what I play, solo or group, which probably should have been better delineated. So, for example, the question about taking a leadership role, I normally play solo, but when I do group I tend to take some sort of leadership role. In this question, it grouped solo play and not taking a leadership role together, so someone like me wouldn't know how to answer that question. This for me is the question that stuck out for me, but there were other questions that had similar issues of that the questions need a caveat or modifyier/explanation.

Hey mate I finished the survey, just thought I'd provide some feedback on the last question: "do you consider video games addictive?".
I answered "yes" but only because they're addictive in the same way any other form of media can be addictive, if something releases endorphins in your brain then the possibility is there. Although that said I think games can be slightly more so than movies or books due to their reward mechanics.

While I suppose answering 1 for everything might have been a substitute, the first page really needed a "I do not play multi player games" answer.
Thank you very much for all of your responses! All of your support has made it so that I may not even need to post this survey anywhere else (I can only have so many participants unfortunately). To those of you asking if I will post any of my results here, I would be happy to. To the extent that I am allowed to that is.
I would also like to add that I myself and this survey are not about taking any stance on the argument of whether gaming is addictive or not. There is very little agreement in psychological research on the idea that gaming is addictive and even the DSM does not recognize it as an addictive habit. The point of adding it in the survey is to further my research and raise awareness. Thank you all again, and feel free to ask me any questions through PM or my posted e-mail address. I can't guarantee how fast I'll respond given how busy I am this semester. But I will be checking! Have fun out there!
