Not sure if any of you guys have seen this yet, but frankly this got me pretty angry.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment_and_arts/10272333.stm

Who the hell does James Corden think he is to act that way with SIR Patrick Stewart, one of the most respected and talented thespians in the world. The fact the press and the audience take the side of Corden is even more outraging.

Anyways what are your views/reactions to this?

I'm with you on that.

I think Patrick Stewart was just trying to do a public service by pointing out that Corden's belly is really not nice to look at.
Why he continues to get it out for 'comic effect' in things completely puzzles me...

Mild apathy to be honest.

But Corden was being disrespectful to begin with, Sir Jean Luc Pickard was disrespectful in retaliation.

But congrats to Patrick Stewart on winning the "Glamour Woman of the Year" award, that was strange.

Whos the bint who said she wants to see Stewart "die" on stage?

Also, Corden grinds on me after about 10 mins on screen

I used to think James Corden was an alright person who was fairly funny.

Now I think he's a dick.

I must have mis-read, from what I saw Patrick Stewart started it by telling him not to stand with his hands in his pockets because he "could see your belly".

Still, Corden just isn't funny. He tries way too hard. Patrick Stewart on the other hand just got knighted, and is meant to be a respected actor - shouldn't he be above trading (crap) insults with flavour-of-the-month "comedians"?

Patrick Stuart has a little thing called charisma. He could leave all his jokes unfinished and still be awesome. The "comedian" just looks like a little bit of a tool.

Oh no he didn't! Get the rifles boys! I've met Patrick Stewart, he's awesome and deserves a bit more respect than that.

Ze phillistine! Off viz hiz head!

Sounds like they were both being dickish all though I don't exactly see how, in any context, telling someone they wish they'd die would be considerered an appropriate level of responce?

I think she meant it as a complement.
After Corden said he was dying ( as in not being funny, not physically dying) she said 'I'd pay to see Patrick Stewart die on stage any day' in the sense that its Patrick frekin Stewart, you know?

here's the clips http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIBUWqSTp90

Thats what I meant with Stewart being dis respectful in return, he should be above trading insults with a rude little shit bag.

As for why other insipid people decided to side with the insipid person, well your answer is right there, insipid people gotta stick together, insipidness and by extension talentlessness is thicker than water.

I love how shit our society's become. We applaud a fat guy for being fat and not funny while ignoring Sir Patrick Stewart for being an amazing actor.

James Corden's a comedian?
Fuck him, he'll never achieve any of the glory or respect people have for Patrick Stewart.

To be fair, Patrick was trying to be professional and James Corden was just being a complete arse behind him, Interrupting Patrick as he spoke and then making such a remark as "See you dying on stage" is completely tasteless and unfunny and to be honest, Patrick is revered all over the world. I hope Corden gets fined for this.

This is a shame to see, as now I am questioning whether to watch Doctor Who this saturday as it features James Corden as the guest star.
