Gonna disagree about the Bioware game, I thought it was rancid. The AWFUL music was the nail in the coffin. Otherwise, yeah, recent Sonic games have been surprisingly pretty excellent. I even really liked Sonic Unleashed, despite the Werehog. That's sort of a point you put up with rather than enjoy, undermining the consistency of the experience, but I felt it made the time I put in worthwile, it had oodles of content, some of the best graphics and game art of this generation, and, honestly, way better Sonic gameplay than the Adventure titles ever could boast (mostly because it adopted Sonic Rush mechanics XD).Alphakirby said:Despite some of the bad ones,Sonic does have some good current (and last gen depending on your sense of time) gen stuff. The Advance series,Rush,Colors, that RPG from Bioware. Sonic may not have had any hits lately, but he strives to greatness with these few games, and hopefully Sonic Generations will break the cycle of good game, bad game.Shivarage said:"Sega's upcoming Sonic Generations looks like it's going to continue the recent (excellent) trend of quality hedgehog videogames."Vanguard_Ex said:This doesn't really apply since he didn't make the game...Shivarage said:Self praise is no praise
He didn't write the article either...
OT:When I played the demo,I wondered why there was no 3D section (In fear of another Sonic Unleashed incident where they only let you try the good part of the game) I'm happy to hear that this time, the game has a more Sonic Adventure style of gameplay on 3D's part.
Also, the demo can be hacked; oddly, the 3D stage is in it, is playable, and is pretty good. Additionally, you can hack it so that 2D Sonic is playable in the 3D stages and 3D Sonic is playable in the 2D stages. Oddly, they cross over into each other's stages really, really well.
