(Mods if this belongs elsewhere, please move it, ta!)
Right, so. Today my 360, which I've had for 16 months, decided to stop reading discs. It's been leading up to this for a few days by doing it once or twice (sometimes mid-game which was exceptionally annoying), but now has just given in all together.
I Googled around a bit and found that it costs somewhere in the region of £150 (if you include the inevitably massive shipping costs to send it to Microsoft) to repair a non-warrantied 360. I also found that for just £40 more I can get a new 360 Slim.
Which would you do? Pay for repairs and run the risk of getting some crappy refurb back, or just buy a new and (I assume) improved console? Really can't decide which to do. Seems a shame to buy a new one given the short time I've had my existing one, but £150 is alot for repairs.
(To all 360 haters I'll save you the trouble: no, I will not buy a PS3)
