Well, the desktop PC will run decent games, properly. Laptops should be used for only one thing, mobile usage.

I'm still of the opinion a gaming laptop doesn't properly exist.
I resent that! I have a Dell XPS M1530, and it can run Crysis on low/medium settings.
You're actually proving my point. That's a new laptop, available this year and it can run a game released in 2007, on medium/low.

A gaming computer in my opinion, is one that can run the majority of games at a decent resolution, 1280x1024 at min, on medium at lowest. At a minimum of 60fps. A gaming computer MUST as a core component have upgradability at it's core, graphics being the biggest restrictor.

Gaming laptops are good for gaming as much as they will play most of the stuff released within the year of their release, and then slowly become useless within 18 months as they cannot keep up graphically. The inability to upgrade graphics on a laptop is the reason i won't use one for gaming, as a serious consideration.

Generally speaking, more expensive and not rubbish for gaming. I also largely don't see the point of gaming laptops. Sure, you might need to work outside and that would be handy... at which point, just get a normal computer and a semi decently specced laptop internet etc, which is mostly what it'll be used for anyway... i mean, i can see the need for a computer to use when mobile, but i can't really see the need to spend twice as much for the rare occasion you might game on the move.

Unless your one of those picky types who 'doesn't like desktops' and they 'take up too much space'.
The reason I use a laptop is that I'm at school during the week, and home at the weekend. It makes much more sense to have a computer that can easily transported between the two places.

But you're right. If I didn't need to switch between two places frequently, I'd prefer a desktop.
