A lot of people I know generally bash not just specificly PC made games, but PCs in general. Being a 99 percent PC gamer, the 1 percent being rockband, I dont understand this. I have nothing against console gaming, I just dont see whats wrong with PC gaming. Can someone with more experience with this tell me whats wrong with PC gaming? Thank You

Having to upgrade your rig is a pretty inconvieniant thing, as are hardware requirements in general. Despite that I'd still say PC gaming is largly superiour.

In my experience, people who are bitter towards the PC have at one point bought a PC game, brought it home to play, and then found out that their crappy graphics card and RAM weren't good enough. Or that you can't play Crysis on a laptop.

In short, the technological maintenance makes it seem to some people inferior to consoles, which require no work of the sort.

Of course, some people just bash things for the simple reason that they don't have it or can't use it. Enter the fanboys.

It's all a matter of peoples preferences and some partial ignorance. People seem naturally inclined to bash that which they do not like and just be ignorant to the whole thing. Not all haters are like that, those people simply have different tastes. I find the whole hate for PC or consoles plain ridiculous and i will always shake my head in disgust at such displays.

As a fellow PC Gamer gamer who owns a Sega Genesis & has played but never purchaced a Playstation & found a keyboard more desireable to a gamepad, I'm not the one to ask. They don't make my kind of RPG for consoles anyway; gamepads wouldn't have enough buttons to replace the shortcut keys & consoles have no mouse to controll the camera. Console games also have a choppiness in their movement & make bad ports to PC that take 3 hours to get a good feel for. If a console company releases a new console, they don;t make games for the old console anymore; PC has backwards compatibility & instead of bying a new rig, all we have to do is get a cheap new graphics card.

Well first off anyone who says somthing along the lines of "your doing somthing I don't like, therefor it is bad" is a close minded idiot. people like that can safely be ignored beacuse they will always emphisize(sp) the good things about there choice, and the bad things about yours.

anyways, I think certian agmes are better on the PC (RTS, FPS, ect.), and other are better on cosole (platfoming, action, fighting, ect.). the only real problem I have with PC is that I don't know alot about computers so if theres a problem I don't know how to fix it. Admittedly this is also true with consoles but I find that PCs get errors much more frequently.

I think it's just retaliation on the part of the console players who are tired of being treated like second-class gaming citizens by the PC gaming master race. I imagine if I were a console gamer and PC gamers kept calling me things like "console-tarded" and complaining about how console gamers ruined games like Oblivion and Fallout 3, I'd be inclined to lash out too.

This does not for one second change the fact that PC gamers ARE the master race.

There is nothing wrong with PC gaming at all in my mind.
Nor console gaming either, though they are limited to only games, and only certain kinds of games.

Console gamers have to "upgrade" their type of console too, only at a slower rate.
Because if they pumped out consoles as fast as they did PC´s, no one would by them,
and no one would make games for them.

Some reason why I think the PC is too expensive thing that console gamers use as an argument is bs.
1) PC games are usually $10 cheaper, this adds up relatively fast depending on how many games you buy.
2) Putting together a PC yourself can be really cheap, my last PC cost about $500 (if I would've done the rebates but I had some issues w/ that, but it is another story), and usually learning to build your own rig extends the life of the pc.
3) The life of a pc can usually last as long as the life of a console, my last pc lasted about 5 years until the motherboard blew out and it was still playing things like Left 4 Dead at 30-35 fps.
4) Mods, the gaming communities for many games are huge and mods can add hours of fun to a game.
5) Not have to pay for some services, example I can play TF2 whenever I want but if I owned it on a console I'd have to pay for XboxLive, somewhat of a moot point since xboxlive covers all their games, but you still have to pay to play online, whereas in pc games (excluding MMORPGS) you don't.

Well, console gamers probably dislike the PC gamers for behaving like some sort of master race. They also find it inconvenient to upgrade their system very often, as they'd rather just buy 1 or 2 consoles every 5 years or so. They also like that consoles are in general more stable than PC's, hardly ever break down, and need little maintenance.
PC gamers dislike games that are toned down in difficulty, supposedly for the benefits of the "console 'tards" (like BioShock), or whose interface is copied and pasted from a console, and is a nightmare to navigate on the PC (like Oblivion)

The thing I like about consoles is that I pretty much don't have to worry about the system itself once I've got it. It's nice to not have to worry about my games matching the system specs. However, both serve their own specific purpose. Consoles I find typically cater to balls to the wall minimal strategy run and guns, while PCs typically best cater to strategy games (this is in my experience, anyways, and how I play). I don't find console gamers bashing PCs quite as often as PC gamers bash consoles, but to be perfectly honest I wish both sets of bashers would go out into their own little room to argue while the rest of us get along in our own respective areas.

1) Not only are the AAA titles $10 cheaper, but there are a LOT of good inexpensive PC games that launch at lower price points that are legitimately quality titles.
2) Only $500? Admittedly I'm a bigger fan of future-proofing but $500 seems a little low to me. You can still build a PC worthy of anything this side of Crysis for under two grand, though.
3) A bit of a generous estimate, since my usual rule is to trade up the motherboard every three years to take advantage of new chipsets (I'm buying a Core i7 rig late this year and my current Core 2 Duo-based system dates back to December '06.)
4) Game + mods = almost like getting a few expansion packs for free (especially in the case of a game like Oblivion if you add FCOM or something like it)
5) Steam's online features alone make PC gaming worth it.

If you are every trying to figure out why PC gaming gets such a bad rap...

Look no further than Electronic Arts and Sony. Between those two you basically have the entire reason people think PC gaming is dead or dying.
