I switched to PC when I was about 11 (2003-ish), never saw any reason to sell my consoles and some of my favourite series are/were exclusive to PlayStation.

I also bought a PS3 well after switching to PC for the exclusives.

I've always had both but I've always played my console more. This was also back when cross platform wasn't as common and I enjoyed more console games than PC games. Now it depends on which one controls better. If it feels better on a gamepad I get it for my PS3, and if it's better with M&K I get it for PC. The games I like usually play better on a pad, I like the simplicity of console, and I'm not a graphics whore.

I never really made the jump. Started out on the PC, got a GameCube, had a PC phase again, got a 360, another PC phase, got a PS3 and back to the PC phase again.

*shrug* I got a PC, I got consoles and they're all here to stay. Reason my PC is getting a lot of use right now is mainly thanks to the cheapness that is Steam. Recently I've been using my handhelds more and more though.

I've done exactly the same thing and have kept my consoles. Why? All my friends have a 360. But I have to say, I do prefer PC gaming overall. I'm thinking of skipping the next console cycle and simply putting that money towards upgrades.

*Note: This does not mean you can't have preferences (personally, if it's multi-platform I get it for the 360) but to flat out refuse to play a game you think looks really good that's not on your system is silly.
How is that silly? I refuse to play any PS3 game no matter how good it looks, because I don't have a PS3 and have no intention of getting one.

To buy any system that has one game you think looks good... THAT'S silly.

I was referring to people who say that they will not get "System X" no matter what ever comes out because it's not "System Y". They refuse to play on it, even if I were to say "Here friend, here is a free System X!".

I thought I was being clear with that but when I re-read my statement I can see where the mis-communication may have been.

Ah, I got you now. Yeah, console fanboyism. The ones who act like that aren't even the worst, though. I've seen muppets on this very forum who say things like "I hope they don't release $GAME on $OTHER_SYSTEM at all. They should play it on $MY_SYSTEM or not at all." Those people inspire me toward a desire for interpersonal violence. :p

I currently game on a PC that would be ashamed to call itself a gaming PC. I loved it more for the fact that it makes gaming feel more personal than slouching on the couch or in a home theater.

I still go back to my PS3 for Dark Souls, Shadow of the Colossus, and Assassin's Creed along with titles which are console oriented.

I purchased an Alienware laptop shortly after selling my 360. After being strictly a pc gamer for roughly 2 years I realized a lot of the games I enjoy simple aren't the same or even available on the pc. An example of not the same is Battlefield/CoD, and an example of not available being Madden. So I repurchased a 360. PC gaming is great and unique, but the truth of the matter is I have approximately 0 friends who also game on their pcs, so if I want to play with RL friends I need a 360.
Also I'm sure not all FPS on the PC are like this, but I mentioned battlefield is not quite the same on the PC. This is because only private servers are available for play online. And for some reason, no matter where it's located I lag on every single last one of these servers rendering it unplayable. I know for a fact this can't have anything to do with my PC or my connectivity because I experience little to no lag at all playing WoW, SCII, LoL, Borderlands, or anything else I play online on my PC or Xbox.

You want to know how I got onto Steam? My brother bought Left 4 Dead when it came out and I was floored by just how much fun it was. Then I saw this Machinima and I wanted to buy TF2 as well.

There were several others that I loved that helped decide my purchases but mainly this.

Come Christmas I was pumped to get TF2 and Left 4 Dead, however my computer was made of shit and I could only run TF2 at about 30 FPS on the lowest graphical power.

I would continue to buy some games on Steam that interested me, however the lack of not getting Left 4 Dead 2 delayed this to the release of Left 4 Dead 2. I originally got it on the Xbox 360 upon release and enjoyed it thoroughly however I missed online play, this didn't bother me so I kept getting some games on Steam and that number soon increased over time. Eventually, I stopped getting Xbox games altogether and instead started to buy anything I could run on my PC.

I kept my Xbox around for the sole purpose of those one or two XBLA titles that peak my interest, and I shall say the very last game I got for it was Red Dead Zombie.
