PC games that would be good on consoles.

I always thought the original Ground Control is one of the few RTS's (RTT's) that might not be so bad on consoles.
It has a small amount of units, which on themselves are easily selectable squads, as well as a camera that would work really well with a controller.
The special abilities could be a bit tricky, though.

Diablow ? I think alot of ppl on consoles that wouldn't be into a true rpg, would enjoy a loot whoring experience they can play with their friends like that. Seems like it would make a perfect console game.
The original Diablo had a Playstation port. Was actually quite good, as far as I heard.

Aye, I agree with all the people saying platformers. Those just do not work on PC unless you plug in a controller.

Captcha: get out. No u.
Honestly, I think that's simply a personal bias. Granted, what I'm about to say is also moderately biased (in the opposite direction), but w/e.

I fully disagree with that assertion. For 2D platformers, there's no absolutely difference if you set your keyboard scheme up right. Personally, I feel like keyboards have faster response times than controllers.

For 3D platformers, you get that faster response time and the ability to do some pretty neat things, albeit at the cost of movespeed control. But for most games, that's absolutely no hindrance, and that faster response time means that combos are easier to do. Take Mario 64--walljumping, triple-jumping, clutch backflips, bank-flips, and every combo of those are thirty times as responsive as they are with an N64 comtroller. Sure, part of that is simply the hardware difference between an N64 and a modern computer, but in the end, a computer is still a better input choice for Mario 64 than its native platform.

Now, that difference is minimized or even non-present with modern consoles, but that only means that computers and consoles play platformers equally well.

Any game that doesn't require a ridiculous number of button presses at once from an unwieldy control scheme that doesn't require pin-point shooting accuracy at all times.

.....Huh, that's any half-decent game. (Except for RTS's, obviously)
well witcher 2 is on consoles now, so that's a step in the right direction

i wouldn't mind a diablo game on consoles, but it probably wouldn't work

I'm out of the console market so I can't be sure if any of my obvious choices aren't already out on consoles, I would be better at naming games that shouldn't go to consoles, like Counter-Strike (Global Offensive is gonna be a slaughterhouse.)

I think that the controls for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. could be simplified down for the consoles, the gunplay isn't as fast paced so it could work for consoles. And Stalker is notorious for being buggy on PC and a console version could iron that all out.

Audiosurf is another one, but I don't know how well the music importing would work, being able to play out of iTunes makes it easy but splitscreen ability could lead to some interesting gameplay since Audiosurf really has little gameplay as is.

Tribes: Ascend. It strikes me as a shooter that would play well on a console with minimal or no auto-aim.
I just started playing that a month ago and I don't think it would translate without auto aim which would remove it's tribes-y goodness, the spinfusor would be cast aside for the thumper, mortar, and chaingun.

Amnesia would be fantastic on consoles.
What about the claustrophobia that is emphasized by the distance between the player and the screen - which is minimal on the PC platform?

God I want Amnesia on consoles so damn bad. It would be perfect for XBLA/PSN.

They were actually talking about a port a year ago. I emailed the developers to ask if they still had plans and if a petition would help but they never wrote me back. Fuckers.

Platformers better on consoles? Not with that controller delay on those wireless controllers and the shitty 360 dpad.
I think you need a new controller, to fix that delay.

And why would anyone use the Dpad? XD Analogue is good enough.

Pretty much any game that isn't an RTS could work. And I'm sure somebody'll figure out a decent control scheme for consoles eventually.
I think halo wars got pretty damn close.

The idea is to make one with consoles in mind first, not a port. Thats why they fail all the time D:

Total War games could be ported to consoles. It's not like they're exactly fast paced. Screw what anyone says. I know it can be done.

First Gothic game should have been released on consoles as well but at that time consoles had too weak hardware. The game still kept controls that could be easily translated to gamepad.

Not the controller, pop any 2D PS2 game into the PS3 and you'll see there's a delay really quickly. Megaman X Collection, Sonic Collection even Sonics Ultimate Genesis Collection has a delay, which in those games isn't really a good thing to have .

You can have every moba game, their not too complex for controllers.
Then you are playing them wrong evidently.

And Tribes will do fine on consoles, as long as they keep them in their own servers, same as any other fast paced FPS. I guess DotA games can also work on consoles with their own servers.
