Consoles are alot cheaper if you don't know how to build and upgrade your PC, and most people don't.
Also you know the games will just work, do not have to worry about your hardware being powerful enough, though it is not that hard to work out, hardware requirements scare and confuse alot of people. It is much easier for them to just buy a game for console, nobody likes getting a new game and not being able to run it.
Plus some games are just better on consoles, and consoles appear to a different audience.

I think it's because consoles are cheaper and we dont have to spend whole lot of bucks on graphic cards and other stuff every six months or so.
Gameplaywise U prefer to play on the PC...but most of the developers are moving to consoles due to the high piracy rate.

Because consoles are cheap and built for you instead expensive and annoying to get going. Most peoples' PC's can't power the new games and it's cost £300 or so to upgrade so it could or at least £600 to build a decent gaming PC, then it'd need another upgrade in a few years. A console, on the other hand, costs about £300 then plays all the games built for it for a far longer time and is generally cheaper to run and only needs upgrading once it becomes completely obsolete. The only drawback is that console games are individually more expensive than those on PC.

That just about cover it?
Add the fact that you don't run the risk of viruses with a console and you're about set.

Cheap, easy and purpose-built; that's why people like consoles. Not everyone's a computer geek, you know.

Why buy a car from a dealer instead of fixing up an old one or building from parts? Why go to Burger King instead of fixing yourself a sandwich? It comes down to a decision between effort/investment/reward.

A couple of points I would like to raise.

1) Yes, consoles are cheaper. But the games are not.
2) You don't need to be a computer geek to operate a gaming PC without issues. All you need is a legit OS and an virus checker(this is the one people skimp on).
3) Updating your computer only needs to be done once every three years. Not six months.

It is about personal choice. I prefer the PC because of the variety of games and better game play. I have a PS2 and a Wii. The best thing I find about PC games is you get more bang for your buck. By this I mean replayability.

The PC vs console thing has been done to death and will never end. Just as the PS3 vs 360 arguments exist. As game developers continue to move more towards cross platform releases I don't see a point in having more than one.

The only reason I prefer console gaming is because they are designed to play games so the controllers are well designed for that purpose. I've never really been able to enjoy anything other than an rts or two with pc controls.

That being said, you can obviously get a superior pc in terms of gaming power, I just don't really like the pc controls.

My theory is that it's got to do with how you grew up.

When i was a kid cracking open new game for my PS1 was the most joyful feeling id ever had. And since consoles are basically ONLY for games, then they shine like a beacon of fun. And on PC you have to worry about crashes and not having the right specs, and controllers are definately better to play games with than a keyboard. There was a point in my life where i started pirating games and so lost the satisfaction of cracking open games and i had to run all the games on low quality cause my GPC is shithouse.

But when i bought a 360 all that fun i had lost when i had pirated my first game came rushing back. I still do pirate some ganes. But i like my 360 more. (plus i finally can give back to the companies who games i stole XD)

to be honest I prefer my consoles over pc...

mostly because I work in front of a Pc all day... I like leaving my office and crashing out on a couch in front of a huge TV and relaxing.

I don't like mods, I personally feel it cheapens a game somehow.. I don't like moding controls and such...the few pc games I do play I leave them default and just really don't like memorizing tons of commands, or hot keys... and graphics means nothing to me... and I have no urge to spend money on updating the PC unless I need to for work.

so really thats it with me personally...it comes down to relaxing, and for some reason when it boils down.. on a PC game, I CAN'T seem to relax and enjoy it.
