I'm trying to really get into the game universe, try new games, and really try to see games as a "art". So I was wondering, what should I do? It looks like the PC is the best platform for games, but I already have a 360. Should I sell my 360 and buy a computer, or should I keep the xbox? And please, no flame wars.

If your just getting into gaming, I would suggest you pick up a 360 first, just to get the feel, before you go ahead and make or buy a good gaming PC.

Also, this thread name just sort of sounds like a flame war waiting to happen...

But everyone who reads this, it's NOT that sort of thread!

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see you already owned an Xbox. Just go for a budget gaming rig, if you feel you have the spare cash for it.

I can have two, but I'm a little low on cash right now. That's why I thought of selling my xbox if it could mean a PC.

Keep your 360, and save up for a good rig. You will be able to build one MUCH cheaper than buying one stock, or having one custom built by some company.
But if you can afford it, PC gaming is the way to go.

Is it too much to ask for both?

Ideally you want all the consoles and a decent gaming PC, in my opinion selling a console during its life cycle is foolish.

PC is always advantageous over any console, in terms of game prices and functionality.

xBox advantage is the system price is very low and... well... it's a console, looks nicer in your living room.

Well it's up to you then, just ask yourself whether playing on the PC or 360 is better for you.
Well, what types of game play better on which consoles? The only games I have played is Halo, Dawn of War, Call of Duty 4 and Portal, which the last three I don't even own. I just moved from the middle of nowhere in the dead center of Canada, so I haven't had much experience. I am just wondering whats better for a person just coming into gaming. Also, what does "RTS" and "FPS" mean? I'm I really that pathetic?

Both. A mid-range gaming PC will suit you down to the ground along with the 360.

I'd see which you like best. go over a friends house and play a few PC games so you can get a feel for what the PC is like. If you don't like it keep the 360 and get a PC when you can later.

So you see games as art? Um...from what I remember all the artistic games (minus Flower) came out mainly on the PS2. I honestly can't think of any that are on the Xbox or PC.

You're going to want to do alot of research before getting into PC gaming, since a good gaming PC can be very expensive if you don't build it yourself.

Stay with your 360 for now, and look into building/upgrading your own PC somewhere down the line.

I know you already have a 360... and thats all fine and dandy.
But... What i've always wanted to do is have a PS3 (for the exclusive titles as well as the games that are better on console) and a good gaming PC (so i can get the titles that are only on PC and Xbox as well as the games that are better on PC).

Thanks every one for your opinions, but may I ask for one more thing? What are some good games for the PC and the Xbox? I seen some videos of Zero Punctuation, so should I trust him, go with your ideas, or just go with my gut?
