Overall this makes me feel good about never buying a new game.

They're overpriced, unfinished, and there's no guarantee that developers aren't just going to pocket your cash, puncyou you in the groin and tell you to go fuck yourself.

Never would have bought Bioshock 2 though, or even accepted it as a gift.

I wonder if immediately after this announcement the piracy numbers for BioShock 2 skyrocketed. See what game companies seem to misunderstand, particularly 2K, is that if you want people to buy your game you need to give them a reason. Dicking around PC gamers is not likely to do that.

Funny how this works in the complete opposite way for Valve, in that their console players get the shaft whilst PC gamers bask in free DLC and continuous support.
Except it's the console manufacturers that are screwing their clientèle. Valve would rather give the updates and new content for free as they have on the PC to the console gamers.

As to this, fuck 2K. After this limited installation bullshit of Bioshock 1 and their continued bullshit and seriously for their raping of X-Com, I hate them more than I hate Activision and I would happily douse every decision maker in Activision and watch them burn to death. Slowly.

And both of those could be caused by 2K repeatedly screwing over PC gamers.

Its a viscous circle that neither side seems to want to fix.
It is quite a VICIOUS circle.

I guess circles are hard to pour but I wouldn't call them viscous...

DLC is understandable, but not releasing a PATCH is ridiculous.
Fucking typo's...

Well at least I spelled viscous right.
I would advise you to look up the definition of viscous. It doesn't mean what you think it means, champ.

Anyway, I doubt PC players are too bummed that they can't get the Protector's Trials, but I imagine they'd appreciate Minerva's Den. Way to drop the ball, guys.

But I do know what it means... it was a type and I changed it to vicious, which is what I intended to type in the first place...

Blame Microsoft about that. Valve doesn't like to make its players pay for extra content, but Microsoft FORCES developers to make DLC cost so they get a little lot of money in their pockets.
Plus the system is so closed to outside developers Valve can't implement things the way they want anyway. That's why they're doing things for the PS3 now.

That's not Valve's fault, as I'm sure has been pointed out to you already.

You did not. Unless you edited your post after I quoted it. It was a little strange, that's all.

Is it just me or are Big-Business company's shafting customers more and more these day? The biggest problem is they can GET AWAY WITH IT. Because for every customer who actual researches the game or pays attention to see if they're worth buying there's another 5 who just begged their mum to buy it because they saw this ad on TV which looked cool.

What can we do about it? Petitions don't work, No one cares about boycotts (even participants it seems) , Pirating just aggravates the problem, not buying the game just shows that there is no market and Appealing via letter or email doesn't work due to the company's being so big and bloated that they don't work their way up chain of command to the people who could actually DO something.

Welcome to the Ineffectual Land Population: Everyone who gives a damn.

Tobey apologized for the disappointment that the news would undoubtedly cause, and blamed the decision on "technical and timing issues." She also revealed that a patch to fix problems with the game would not be coming to the PC, despite it being promised months before. Tobey added that if the situation changed, she would let the community know, but that at the moment the decisions should be considered final.
Yawn. Yet another example of PC gaming being screwed. This is not news, people.

NFL 2k5 remains the best football game in my opinion.

OT: That's why I never bought it for the computer, bought their collecters edition for my PS3 then sold it when my PS3 decided to kill itself with the YLOD. Both were stupid decisions. Bioshock 2 was a bit of a disappointment, and I can't believe I convinced myself the collector's edition would be worth it. This is absolute nonsense. If 2K expects me to buy Bioshock Infinite they better show us some support.
Different dev team, Infinite is going to be INSANE because it's back in the hands of the original creators.

Yeah, kinda skirting around the question. That's a very poor way of addressing your community.

Note to self: all possible future multiplatform 2K games should be purchased for console only.

What?

I should just stop trusting multi-platform games on PC. Seriously, it's like developers think the PC is cursed or something. Maybe I'm just carrying some spite because I just finished the PC version of Saints Row 2 (freaking horrible port, no support at all), but it seems so disrespectful towards their supporters to cut them out with no good reason.
Don't worry, Volition thinks it's horrible too, but there's a great modidng community for it that does somewhat make up for it. The community leader said that when SR3 is made, they're gonna have a much better port (probably by the guys who ported Red Faction: Guerilla)

The last 2 purchases I made that were the most disappointing were 2K Games Bioshock 2 and 2K Games Mafia 2. Both of which suffered from a host of issues, most notoriously the dlc issues and the pre-order "bonuses" that come from different retailers. Yeah, 2k can piss off. They are dead to me.

Doesn't surprise me.

2K seems to hate PC players for some reason.
I think is due to piracy and the fact that the PC sales have been terrible.
