Also, how are you going to handle punishment(s) I think you should have a wide variety of them written on paper scraps and draw them out of a hat or something.

Well, this isn't a usual recommendation, but if you can track down the anime Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni they have some decent examples of penalty games like what you are talking about. It's mostly harmless stuff like drawing embarrassing crap on somebody's face or making someone wear a maid outfit and serve food to the rest while acting servile. As for an original idea, fill a medium or small container (such as an 8 oz. water bottle) with hot sauce and glug dat shit.

I got another one: make 'em drink bong water. I don't know if you know any potheads, but if you do ask them to start saving up bong water and then keep that around for penalties when the time comes.

Yes, most punishments will be randomly drawn from a hat unless a player meets special conditions (I.E. they lost the game completely or they lose two countries at once. There are others, I'm still working on them).

I do know one pot-head. I think I may have to get a hold of him. See if he's willing to assist.

I always wanted to try a game of 'strip risk'- it would be... interesting

eating a disguting mixture of food is good, but too common,
how about a forfeit they have to do until they capture another country, e.g. force them to listen to music they hate by earphones.
eat a teabag,
read a Twilight page
the person who captured their contry gets to write something embarrassing on their backs with a pen, they cannot see it and aren't allowed to rub it off
10 press-ups or sit-ups
A single wax strip put on their legs and pulled whenever they lose an area

Some ideas I've been doing that are more annoying than anything, but can serve to be funny are:

Questions Only - The player must only speak in questions until the end of the round

PokeSpeak - The player can only say their name until the end of the round

Running in Place - The player must run in place for 5-10 minutes (specific time = TBA)

20 Sit ups / Push ups - The player must perform 20 sit ups or push ups (trust me, most of us are outta shape

National Anthem - Upon loss of the game, the player must sing their country's national anthem in the native language
