Just click the link, do the Captcha, and get your code. Have to use Steam to redeem it, though. Also, once you do Captcha, the page'll refresh and it'll look like nothing happened. But if you scroll back up, it'll be near the top of the page.

I cannot believe I was going to buy this yesterday and decided against it. What luck, to get a free game based off the games you bought before.

Penny Arcade's 1 and 2 are quite funny, and I own them. Penny Arcade: Ep. 1 still cracks me up, and the trophies were something else to have fun with.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I cannot wait to play it.

Hooray free game. How much will be lost on me if I never played the first two?
Not much if anything. There are a few references, but I played the games in 3 -> 1 -> 2 order as well, and it was fine.

Eh.... I couldn't stand how the game had no attack sounds and the such in battles. It felt so poor and lazy without the oomph of proper attack sounds that I never got past the first 30 minutes. That sounds very critical of me but come on, man! Attack sounds are important to me. XP

It just told me it ran out of codes. Lame.

Also, right before it told me this it also told me that it couldn't open some sort of socket (paraphrasing because knowing Penny Arcade and it might have actually been the code and I don't know how to use it).

Make them yourself, and when I say that I mean with your voice.

Much more immersive when you're the one doing the grunting.

Depends if you also play the DLC where the character from the first two returns. The story does follow on, and there are important returning characters, but it won't matter a huge amount.

You should still play the first two though, as they were much more enjoyable - the art style was enormously better, and the voice work from the narrator is top notch - and because Episode 3 is actually really, really easy once you hit a viable attack pattern. Before long things like specific enemy weaknesses and attack types become unimportant, and you'll run the same combo every battle. Something to add MP, something to buff stats, some attack to debuff enemies, a powerful spell and then just keep hitting as necessary.

Still funny though.

Just thought I'd mention that the third episode does not have trophies/achievements. I didn't care much either way, but it sounds like you might miss them more than I.

I do that with a lot of games. XD Peopple think it's weird. >_> I also make up my own story if the story is crap.

Wait, Rainslick 3 does have attack sounds doesn't it? I finished it a few weeks ago and seem to remember at least a few bloops and bleeps during battles. Maybe I'm just slightly mad.

I would jump on this if I didn't already have the game. Maybe I'll go claim a code anyway just to join all the cool kids who are doing it now. I'll pretend to play it again until Rainslick 4 is released. Hooray!

EDIT: Nevermind, they are out of codes :( I'll have to stick to the copy I bought instead.

Bah, out of codes. I was willing to give Rainslick 3 a chance after the BS that pissed me off regarding Rainslick 1's release (the claim of no short term plans for a Steam release right up until suddenly it was released on Steam within a week of the claim that there were no short term plans for a Steam release as a way to bait people into buying from Greenhouse -- which appears to basically have died sometime between May 2010 and May 2011 [it's been down for upgrades since at least May 2011 according to Wayback]).
