I think they should just plain stop making sequels...
I completely agree on that statement
Or they could just give it a new name, but it'd really just be a sequel since it was developed/produced by the same people. I fail to see why creating a new title/IP would detract from sales if you slap a "From the creators of [some game you liked]" sticker on the box.

It's not the gamers' or your friend's fault, it's the developers for making the titles and numbers confusing.

Resident Evil and GTA series are the worst offenders in this aspect...

Um no, if you don't want to type out the entire title of a game on the xbox messaging, than I have no problem with that.
And you shouldn't either, there are plenty more important things to ***** about.
Like how the Fable series didn't meet up to its hype.

I still think it is REALLY annoying and I know that some people are going to be calling Call of Duty: Modern Warfare:2 Cod6.
How many people do you get messages from everyday that annoy you?

You should look into not caring how proper the communication is and just if the communication is understandable, and CoD5 is pretty understandable.
Its not even a call of duty game as far as we know, so your just as wrong
Out of context FTW!

I was talking about the OT(original topic)

CoD5.

When did I mention MW2???

So you are just as wrong. airhead.
My god you are a smart one aren't you, I quoted BOTH of you, the guy YOU quoted called it called of duty modern warfare 2, which is wrong

READ THE WHOLE POST BEFORE YOU INSULT ME

It's just out of convenience's sake to type (and say) COD5 rather than Call of Duty: World at War... I have been caught saying COD5 myself but I don't for one second think that it deserves that title (implying that it is the "successor" of COD4)
CoD4 implies that it is the "Successor" to CoD3.

Wow, here I was thinking this thread was going to be about complaining parents who didn't realise the game they just bought for their kid is a lot more prone to re-enact the horrors originally conducted by Jason Voorhees than they thought because they didn't read the box. Or something along the lines of that.

Instead you get this.

I don't care about whether people call it CoD5 or World at War. Personally I think correcting someone who says CoD5 even if you know damn well what he's talking about is just a bit whiny.

I have gotten REALLY annoyed when I'm playing another game and my friend sends me a message telling me to get on cod5 (Cod:WaW). I need to tell him EVERY time that its not Cod5 its called Call of duty: World at War. I also tell him that the game hasn't even been released yet. Anyone agree with me?
I think most of us stopped caring about this ages ago.

let them call them whatever they want..

It's hilarious that Modern Warfare 2 doesn't even have the name Call of Duty as of yet though :p

People should relax, there are far more important things to get worked up about. As long as we know which game we're talking about who cares?

I personally type WaW, im sure its often misread as WoW.

Any way, go and play CoD4, its fare better...

I think this can only be resolved with violence...

What kind of violence?
Applied violence, to strike fear into your adversaries heart. I think you should hold his feet on the radiator as a warning. Give him a good roasting.

If you KNOW what he talks about when he calls it cod5 instead of COD:waw i donøt see the problem. It's not like you don't get what he means, so you're just like a grammar-nazi but worse. If my friends kept doing that i would tell them to STFU, or just stop asking them to join me when i'm playing
