The internet is where you can see the human race for what it truly is, as it is the only "place" in human civilization that runs on anarchy.

:insert a series of memes, disjointed threats & counter-arguments barely relevant or completely irrelevant to the OP, which I may or may not have read:

I think what you're experiencing is people growing a sack due to anonymity, everyone has an opinion but it is usual impolite to start dropping F-bombs during a debate in public. The internet lets you be an ass for once without worrying about the social implications of it.

People seem to love bashing others over the internet because of how anonymous it is. They can easily flee or spew filth if they want and get away with it without any problems.

Yes, but look on the bright side: the larger the population, the more people think the internet is serious business, and thus more gullible people to troll, and thus more lulz.

This can also be seen in the fandoms and communities for games. Look at WoW and Halo. Both filled with 13 year-old mid westerns (no offense to mid westerns) whose vocabulary consists of racial slurs and homophobic comments. When I switched from WoW to Lord of the Rings Online, the community was much smaller but the people were helpful and friendly. I suppose it's the act of close-knit minorities fighting an ignorant majority.

But yes, that is hilarious. Lolcats can still be funny sometimes.

I can live with the silliness of the internet when people do not act like this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-uTnqYHZ-I&feature=channel_page]. Those kinds of people drive me to madness. Other than that, I can deal with people on the system of tubes.

My experience: Yes.

I was momentarily one of these undesirables when I first found internet culture. I matured (I think), and hopefully so will the others. If not, then we'll just take them off our friend's list, and then talk about how stupid they are on a random thread to convince other people to block the person forever.

You haven't lived until you've threatened someone wih some form of "I'll track you down" insult.
Also don't start posting how wonderful this site is; that is the reason why it filled with thirteen year olds in January and the reason why it got attacked by 4chan.

God, I can only hope so... Did you read the comment he made on his vid? It makes me cry...

I think he was being serious though. Even if he isn't, his voice... It's the epitome of arrogance.

Perhaps this forum isn't "wonderful", but it certainly seems a bit more sheltered and stable that most areas in that shakey San Andreas Fault we call The Internet.

I did some quick research (I read YouTube comments on video responses), apparently the whole video was a joke by some guys at Something Awful.

That's, uh... one hell of a sense of "humor" they've got.
