I personally dislike the ipod from personal experience with both itunes and the ipod itself. I have owned two and both broke due to a bad battery and bad harddrive. Since then I have been using a creative zen with creative media organizer and LOVE it. The sound quality is unrivaled and there are not all the compatibility issues found with the itunes software. Creative has earned my business for years to come with these products.

So what do other people use as an MP3 player that don't use an ipod?

Nothing. I don't feel the need to listen to music where ever I go.

I don't use any sort of MP3, I never listen to music when out apart from when I'm driving.

Also, is it weird I have iTunes but no iPod?

I actually gave mine away a few months ago, I just listen to music over my computer or car nowadays anyway. I'll probably end up picking up a cheap 2 maybe 4 gig off brand mp3 player at some point.

A Creative Zen too.

I've owned about 3 or 4 various iterations over the years - all have been superb.

I actually hardly ever use my mp3 player when im walking around. The majority of the use I get out of it is in my car where I have it hooked up to my system with a aux cable. I love having all my music in one place rather than scattered around my car via CDs.

I just youtube my music on the internet, or I record the songs onto my phone and since it, has a pretty good record sound then there is no problems.

Cheapest thing that sounds good with decent headphones.
iPods brake on me alot and I've just given up, should have gone with my anti-apple instincts.

I like having the cheapest thing as I can skate with it and not be bothered if it ends up breaking against my arse.

I don't listen to music on the go; I listen to the rhythm of the street.

I sing in my head. Don't need an MP3 player to do that. If there's no one around, I'll sing outloud.

Creative Labs Zen. It works well for me as an mp3/video player and portable storage device, and I don't have to deal with iTunes.

Used to have an iRiver, which I still miss. My only complaint about the Zen is that I prefer having buttons to a scroller...though the vid-playing capability more than makes up for that.
