Yes. "Moral" does not mean "acceptable." The entire purpose of the law is to extend protection to all its citizens. The law must punish those who violate those protections, or else it's meaningless and we're all just running around acting as a few billion judges and executioners, and if that's the case, why do we have a government at all? Why do we have laws, except to make us feel like we don't have to be afraid of each other?

The planet and dolphins wouldn't give a fuck. People are infinitely more important than any other known life form, and your own comment explains why. No dolphin or planet would be willing to doom their own species for the sake of another, but you are, as are many other humans. Humans give fucks. Everything else doesn't.

There are likely some people out there who fit this discription, but I can't think of any off the top of my head. I'll go with the crazy guys running Iran and North Korea and call it a day.
