I don't think you quite understand the point of an online forum.
This is a place to discuss what's on your mind. That's it.

I don't think you should think less of people for not acting on every single word in a place that's designed just for arbitrary communication.

I'm not sure what this has to do with life being fair.

You argue that someone standing up for themselves is pointless unless the world changes to accept who they are. My question would be, what makes THEM so goddamn special and why should we be accepting of them? People are oppressed all over the world and people are hated for stupid reasons. This hatred wont go away just because a few people express their opinion. It takes time, exposure and adequate understanding. And even with all that, there are always a select few who will harbour that hatred or prejudice for historical, cultural or personal reasons.

Your approach is wrong. The world should not have to accept anyone by default, you need to earn that acceptance. I am not going to treat a gay person different from a straight person because he is gay. I'm not going to treat a black person different from a white person because he is black. I am going to bust the gay man's balls for being gay, and I'm going to bust the black man's balls for being black. Why? Because that is what I do with my straight and white friends. That is the definition of equality: Fair game, not special treatment.

Life is as fair as you make it. If it is unfair to you or someone you know, you always have the power to make it better or at least take the right steps. I could recall several instances where people have thrown "Life isn't fair" in my face, and used it as justification to do an unjust action. Bullshit, that's a copout.

Life may not be fair all the time but that should be incentive for you to make it more fair for others.

how come so many arguments I see happening on this site are based on people assuming the world is perfect?
The world truly owes you nothing, you must be thankful for what you have and work hard for what you want or need. Getting mad about something being unfair is wasted energy, you have to try to change what you don't like. I agree with you.
you stated it a lot better then I was, I am no good sometimes at getting my point across.

see post 17, I address this thought I think already, unless I misunderstand your position.

unless I misunderstand you also, it seems that for the most part you are agreeing with me ???

however I never think "life is not fair" should be used as a justification to do an unjust act

I also do not agree with it being used as a last word/copout. but like I said, for the most part you seem to be agreeing with me? could you please clarify, also when you do the quote snip part I am not sure on what you are quoting, I have approached this from a few different angles so knowing which one you are quoting may clear up my understanding of your side.

another question,

for people that do argue about it and get really heated ( not heated in a bad way but because you really care about it )

what do you all think is being accomplished by talking about it online on a forum for a entertainment magazine?

honest question. I try not to be rude/mean online. I really want to know, I might disagree and post on what you say, but I would like to know the thoughts behind such action.
I don't know, its certainly a good way to "test" your own veiws up againsts others...and it makes you think at least

why do we doing anything?
that is a good point, didn't think of that aspect of it...

Life is far more complicated than the simplistic view of the pessimist or the optimist.

Pessimism does injustice and disgrace to life's beauty.
Optimisim does not account for the terrific depths of evil it contains.
A proper view is not as limited as either of them.
