ah the conformity of 'non comformist's' how these idiots amuse me XD

The thing about being 'weird' is large amounts of the time...you're pretty normal...
you don't have to wear outrageous clothes or listen to strange music ^_^

beside most 'weird' people don't try and attract attention..
unlike those trying to be odd...

I can see where you're coming from OP, I'm not what you'd call completely normal, but then I don't think that anyone is in every sense of the word. Everyone's got their own quirks and idiosyncrasies, but people that flaunt them as if they're the only ones that do kind of tick me off if that's what you're saying.
My philosophy is that everyone is special in their own ways, but you need to know the person before you can appreciate them.

Occasionally I come off as one of those people, although the main difference is that I do whatever the hell I feel like at the time. I can have a perfectly civil conversation with somebody about the finer points of advanced cognitive psychology whilst rolling around on the floor or barking like a dog at random intervals. Some days I do nothing of the sort, I am calm, I have a good attention span, and other days I just spaz out. Then again, I do this anyway, even if nobody's around. But what can I say?

I do understand what you mean, though. There are people out there who just try too hard.

The answer: Nobody cares.

You can do as you please. Wear whatever the hell you want to wear. Listen to whatever the hell you want to listen to. Just because music is mainstream, does not necesarilly label it as being either good or bad. It just means that a lot of people like it - or at least claim to.
I pretty much go with this. Just do your own thing.

Shouting out "I'm weird/unique!" is just as pretentious and fake as forcefully attempting to be weird/unique. That's why I find I can't really sympathize, this post strikes me just as pretentious as the kind of people it complains about, just with an added bitterness, no offense intended.
Yeah, I'm gonna go with you two. Seriously, this comes off as needlessly bitter. I don't see the big issue.

I agree, it's what I don't like about Lady Gaga.
If you heard her songs on the radio and didn't know what she looked it, you'd think she was a generic female pop singer.
Slightly off topic, but today my friend said she wouldn't dye her hair red because "everyone is doing it and she doesn't follow trends."
She's a bisexual vegetarian.
Yeah, of course she doesn't follow trends. Of course.

I hate it when people say 'Prolly' instead of 'Probably'.

OT: I love it the way people say 'Oh em jee! I'm lyk so totallie difrant nd funny!!1! :p', they all say that, meaning they are all like each other.

Who the fuck cares, exactly, what anyone on this site does or looks like? "Normal" is relative to who is defining it, or in other words there simply is no such thing. There can be tendencies in a population that are swayed by media and other outside influencing factors, but there is no "default" personality or style. My answer to all this? Shut the hell up about what you are, just go do whatever makes you happiest.

OP does souund like a whiny *****.
There's a guy in my English Language Class who strives to go against everyone elses opinions and wants to be really seperate from the crowd, he just ends up looking like a fat loser twat. I was sitting next to one of the fellow classmates and whilst the guy in question was speaking, he turned to me and said something along the lines of "I hate him so much I just constantly want to punch him in the face" the moment he starts talking, everyone in the room just drifts off and ignores him because we all know it'll be something about how "X doesn't seem worthy of his attention or is wrong to him"

Nonconformity is hip now? Wow. I remember a time when listening to jazz was nonconformist. I rebelled against my parents by staying up past 10pm. I thought I was being "cool". Nowadays, I find that unless you're gay or lesbian, you're not really a nonconformist. Listening to different types of music does not a strangeness make.

Also, nobody really enjoys being a nonconformist. Most nonconformists are somewhat forced into that situation, like being a muslim in a predominantly christian society, for example.

People trying to be nonconformity annoy me, mostly wannabe punks who try and wear the stereotypical things they think will make then an individualistic rebel but in reality it makes them look like a poser and an idiot. Whole point of punk was to say fuck it to societies norm and wear whatever the hell you wanted, act however you want and occasionally get pissed and take over a community centre fun times.

Also deliberately not liking well known punk bands like the Ramones and The Clash doesn't mean your a true punk, just means you don't know good music. /rant.
