My GF went to high school with a girl named La-a. That's how it's spelled now guess the pronunciation.
That's all I've got.

Ech, don't bow to the peer pressure dude, you had a right to express your opinion about these retards and frankly your original thread title was perfectly accurate. You can't go through life without offending anyone. If you do, it just means you never stood up for anything. =)ChildofGallifrey said:Edit: Topic name and this post were amended because it was pointed out to me that I was being extremely rude and judgmental towards the parents. Apologies to anyone who was offended.
Yeah, the last thing I want to do is insult someone, be it intentional or not. I've never had a problem admitting when I'm wrong.Cheshire the Cat said:Not a problem. I just had to make the point. Was too easy to resist and the fact that you accept it and fix it does you credit.ChildofGallifrey said:You are right. I started the topic before stopping to think, and I said things that I shouldn't have. I will go and amend the original post to make it less rude.
There's nothing wrong with naming your child something interesting (although maybe I'm not the best to comment on that, because my daughters name is Allyson), but some of the names in that article are absolutely guaranteed to make these children's lives extremely difficult throughout school unless they turn out to be a star athlete.
Again, I'm sorry if I personally offended you, and I thank you for pointing out my lapse in judgement.
Gamers, for being a group that has to justify having differing tastes constantly do tend to fall quickly into judging others and that just bugs me.
Plus yeah, you probably did insult a few peoples parents.
As for me, my names Chris Jackson so I aint personally insulted. Hell I am more annoyed to have a Blandy McBlanderson name.
Thanks for the support man, but I was over the top on this one. I'll fight to the end for something I believe in, but I went back and reread my OP, and I used a few too many colorful adjectives.Mandalore_15 said:Ech, don't bow to the peer pressure dude, you had a right to express your opinion about these retards and frankly your original thread title was perfectly accurate. These children will have to live with whatever name their parents give them for at least their entire childhood if not their entire lives! Parents giving their child a stupid name will ensure that they are taunted and mocked throughout their childhood, that sort of bulling can lead to disillusionment and psychological trauma, it's also been shown that people who were given odd names are more often discriminated against in the workplace. So no, people should not be able to name their child whatever they want because that can royally screw up their children's future.Wickatricka said:people should be able to name their kid the most retarded thing the want. As for the strangest name I've ever heard, it would actually have to be a girl I met this evening: Csarah... I have no idea how it's spelled but it sound like Cuh-Sarah. Supposedly she was named after the misheard lyrics of a song. Funnily enough her roommate is named Sarah.[/quotDude its not that big of a deal, its just a name, I swear kids these days need to grow some balls and stop being little pussies. If your that distraught by it then change your name when your older.New Frontiersman said:It's not some dog they're giving a silly name, it's a real human being!
