As per the title. My picks would be my judo teacher and my middle school history teacher.

The former taught me respect, restraint and self-control like no one else by his mere presence. He was an at least 190 cm (6' 3") tall gigantic egyptian man who would be the last person on this earth anyone would want to get on the wrong side of. He was also a multiple time sumo wrestling and judo champion in both Egypt and Japan. I'm glad I was taught by him.

My middle school history teacher was an exceptionally inspiring and charismatic man. He always held the class' attention and always kept us active, keeping us on our feet with questions, varying methods of teaching and occasional side stories about his travels. He made me look at life in a slightly different way and seriously consider teaching as a career choice.

Your choices?

I can't think of many, which is quite depressing.

My old media teacher was wonderful, she was hard working and actually gave a shit about the students. She was lovely and funny too. :)

The guys from this site I've got close to, the ones I'm going to Escapsim with as well.
It's helped me because I'm a foreveralone in real life and I could count my friends on one hand.

It's nice to know not everyone can't stand me xD
I used to have best friends but I got jealous and moody so I distanced myself from getting close to other people. My friends here are great, I've always got someone to talk to.

I'll cop out considering I can't say the boyfriend and say his mum, dad and sister.
All cooky in their own way, always lovely (sometimes :p) and always
happy to see me and welcoming me to the family.
They're what I'd call one of a kind xD

People I'm most grateful for in my life, Probably my two closest friends that I have met through my Warhammer 40k playing group hre on campus, while I'm pretty close and hangout with most of them, 2 of them have become really really close friends and they've pretty much become like family, one of them got engaged a couple of weeks ago and asked me to be his best man :D

Another person is one of my Professors, he has just been an amazing professor and amazing person, and has really taught me a lot and helped me out a lot in a lot of ways, I'm gonna miss having him as a teacher when I graduate here in April

All my bros and broettes I met in middle school and then grew in high school.

I pretty much changed friends every year of school until 5th grade when I met my first bro, then 6th my best bro, and then by 7th we had a clique formed. A few people broke off in highschool but every year new freshmen and people joined. I think my senior year there were about twenty or so people in this clique.

My high school life would not have been the same without these people in it. They made it fun and enjoyable. I actually visited a couple weeks ago and we all got to hang out again, made my month.

I could just say the mods here on this forum for not banning me thousands of posts ago and, the posters on here who take my inane crap and, semi-regular reviews that come from nowhere.

As for people who I knew throughout my life...I can't really think of many people honestly. There was a Luna Lovegood kind of person who got me into table top gaming and, anime. Then after high school and failing out of American Idol she moved to Japan. She was recently signed to Sony Records in Japan so...I know a famous person and suddenly feel a bit shallow...

I miss my best friend from High School. Saw him this past summer and that was great.

I'm going to cop out though by saying the only person I really need and who really gets me is my girlfriend.

Had a friend through my last three years in school who helped me a lot. I was suffering badly from my social phobia at the time and thanks to him I was able to stay in school. If I hadn't had him there I'm sure I would've dropped out after a few months.
Unfortunetly when I begun with anti-depressants my mind got really fucked up and it ruined the friendship.

My friends from university. I have just come back from seeing one of them actually, and it was lovely as I hadn't seen her in about three months, but we just picked up straight from where we left off and had a great time catching up, and the month before I went to Canada to see another close friend of mine. My friends from university are the people that I went to when we needed to study and just have a good time. It was these people that made my university years the best of my life and I will always love them for that.

The boss I had during my time as an intern, he cared about my education and took his time explaining stuff to me, as opposed to the teachers at school who threw you an assignment and basically told you to fuck off and return when it was done. I learned more from that guy in six months then I did in four years of school.

Hm... I guess our class's main teacher in high school was a nice guy. Helped with some competitions and whatnot. Also got me out of trouble with the school which is much appreciated.
...
not much else.
Sad, really. Don't think I ever had what could be described as a friend.

Pretty much all of my teachers; particular kudos goes to my English teacher, whose name is German and I can't even spell it even though we were friends for 5 years.

Also my first boss, I suppose. 5th year in high school, and I'd only left my house for reasons other than going to school about 5 times in my entire life. So, having him help me had a huge impact on my life.

The Youth Counselor I met when I was 15/16. I was deep into depression and just about to lose my sanity, my parents were only egging that on.

But he stopped be from doing a few things worse than suicide, things if I did, I would wish I had committed suicide. I still struggle with my mind and sanity today, but he pull me out of that pitch black that my mind was twisting itself into enjoying.

I wouldn't be alive today without him.

My boss at work, great guy, always looking out for us and just being awesome.

My Taichi teacher, I'm very happy that I get to learn under him and that he puts up with my occasional laziness without smacking me like the little ***** I am.

I ... uh... s'bout it, I guess.

Hmmm... probably my Mom and Dad, they've been really supportive of everything I've done and they're incredibly loving and they raised me very well. I don't think I could have asked for better parents.

I have a very best friend, a fellow user of this site actually, Trezu. He has been the greatest most significant friend I could ever have. He has shown me the meaning of friendship and the value that having close relationships can bring. He is and will always be my friend. I'm just sorry that I can't think of a better title other than best friend, cause he is more than that. Thanks trezy

Well, all my friends, first of all-- I've known almost all of them since elementary school (and one of my best friends since we were 3!) both for just being my friends and for introducing me to all kinds of stuff that I now enjoy.

Also, more specifically/unusually, this one girl I met on a trip to Prague in sophomore year (edit: of high school) who indirectly and unintentionally broke me out of years of shyness (still an introvert but much more social).

Ignoring the OP's thread restrictions, I will say my Mom and Dad and my first ex-girlfriend. The first for obvious reasons; the ex, and a video game called Wild ARMs, for teaching me a very important life lesson...one that I don't believe I will ever get the opportunity to thank her for. We didn't leave on good terms.
