Persona 3 or 4?

Try being a Kingdom Hearts fan, PSP, DS, 3DS, PS2 and perhaps PS3 (or 4, depending on when 3 is released) and perhaps Vita (if they make another spin-off)

Why are all the things I enjoy so expensive?!

Although I raked in a large amount of money from my job (which I quit because my boss was an asshole) and I bought a Vita and 3DS (and maybe I will get a Wii-U)

I live with my parents, so I don't have to pay bills. But I wish the Vita (and it's bloody memory cards) were cheaper.

Lucky, I haven't got any money at the moment. Just entered Sixth Form this year and all the Jobs on offer take up waaaaay too much time for studying, parents are tightening their wallets too. I only managed to get the Vita by the skin of my teeth.

Truly my life is one filled with the most horrible of problems. Why was I born so lazy?!

Persona 4 obviously. Because Persona 4 is so fucking perfect! It is literally the best mystery story ever made, bar none.

While it is my favorite game ever, the story suffered from the characters being stupid way too much. The player figures out stuff way before they do.
OP: Persona 4. Better characters, better gameplay, and the story is slightly better than 3's.

I loved all the characters in P3 still, ('specially Aigis but who doesn't love Aigis?) but I disliked the MC so much it took away from the actual likeable characters.

Oh man for me it was the other way round. I just love how the P3 MC is cool-headed and silent.
The P4 MC was way too normal for my taste.

And a "I prefer P3 over P4" vote from me.

They're both equally as good imo but for decisions sake no. 3.
If no. 3 had it's problems fixed it would be better than no. 4.
Also P4s true ending wasn't the default ending and I thought the default ending left unanswered questions leaving people unsatisfied.

I'm gonna copy Tizzy here and say that P3P is my favorite, not P3 by itself but P3P(partially because of the changes to the original P3).

I loved the gameplay in it and the story... OH MAN THE STORY. <3 The characters too.

While Persona 4 has it's strengths I personally find P3P to be better. I guess because to me the feel of it was better. Like you could really tell that what was happening was wearing all of the characters down as it went even if they were becoming better people and you could feel the weight of what they were doing a whole lot better as well.

I keep seeing people say that the characters were not that great... This is where I highly recommend you play P3P on the female side of the story. The FeMC has social links with every single teammate (and then some) so you really get a look at what they are like and you really get to know them and their problems(and not just from a romantic perspective). Its part of the reason why I personally accept the FeMCs story as my own canon storyline. Even if I'm 100% sure that Atlus has the MC be the official hero.

Persona 4 has the better atmosphere and characters on top of the gameplay improvements, but Persona 3 Portable vastly improved on Persona 3 with the gameplay upgrades and better character development (on the female side at least), and female MC is a massive improvement over male MC. Emo douche or endearingly peppy girl with rad fashion sense? Easy choice.

Just play P4 and P3P. You can't go wrong

Persona 3 is great, especially in the form of FES or Portable but Persona 4 is far and away the better game in pretty much every way. It's paced better, funnier, has full character control in battles, has a more "down to earth" story that really kept me emotionally invested and generally had better subsystems. All Persona 3 has "going for it" over Persona 4, in my opinion anyway, is it's "epic" feel what with the saving of the world and all that.

But really you can't go wrong with either Persona 3 or Persona 4.
