You're probably wondering what I'm talking about. Let me explain.

There's a browser-based Persona game available on the Japanese Atlus website. Although it says it is free, email addresses from yahoo and gmail don't work. Why? Because the site doesn't accept free email addresses.

I was wondering if someone knew of any exceptions? Or had any advice on how to register for the game?

I may not know Japanese, but I still want to try the game. And I want to do it legally.

The game is "Persona: Ain Soph", and is found here:

https://p00.atlusnet.jp/

A fortune-telling "game" can be found here:
http://jakyo.atlusnet.jp/

UPDATE/EDIT: Used a school e-mail to log on and it worked. As for the edit, I posted the wrong link. The jakyo link is for a fortune-telling thing. I've included the corrected link, as well as the one for the fortune-telling.

BONUS: I've been able to figure out quite a bit thanks to help from the google taskbar translation feature. It's not completely accurate, but it is extremely helpful. While I'm considering making a rudimentary guide for the game, at least I've told you how the game can be made playable for those who don't know japanese.

I've never heard of a non-free email address,

Seems pretty silly, seeing as there a whole bunch of free ones around.

Are you sure its not restricted to only Japan?

Well, the google desktop on firefox translated it for me. I know google is not highly accurate, but I don't think it had got this wrong. Maybe it did?

Just find a lesser known free email site. They just keep a blacklist of popular free email providers. so just have to find one they don't have on their list. Don't remember any off the top of my head.Just google around a bit, they're pretty easy to find.

I hate to create an e-mail only to find it won't work. Besides, what if the thing is illegit or gets hacked? I'm hoping someone will know which e-mail I should use.

Try this website, it creates an e-mail address you can use for 10 minutes after which it gets deleted. [http://www.10minutemail.com/10MinuteMail/index.html]

Here's a website that creates an e-mail address that works for an hour. [http://www.guerrillamail.com/]

Both websites don't require any registration, can be used as much as you want and if they're both blocked just google "temporary email" it produces a huge list of websites that provide the service.

Would I be able to recreate the same address, or is it random?

UPDATE: Temporary e-mails do not work. I need a permanent one.

Examples of Non-Free e-mail addresses are the address you are assigned by your ISP, your work e-mail address, or any e-mail address hosted by a site that does not offer free service to the general public. If you have your own website that offers e-mail hosting services for example, you have such an account.

I suspect the reason is fairly simple. Many of us have "fake" e-mail accounts we use when registering for various products and services whos only purpose is to catch the resulting spam. I have an aol account that I never check for this very purpose.

I have determined that the game is not just for Japan. I have now been able to play it, although it is a shame there is a limit to how much you can do in one day. I'm going to have to wait before I can play again.
