You're right, it wasn't until 3 that they started with the social links. The reason I don't care much for the first 2 games is that the social links are the reason I like the Persona games above the other spin offs.klaynexas3 said:So wait, do the older games still have a bit of a social sim to them? I thought that it was only introduced in 3(I've only played 3 and 4, though I bought 1 and am going to play the two 2 games and arena when I get the chance).
OT: I'd like to see a morality system introduced, like the one Nocturne had, something subtle rather than blatant but it's there, something that affects things but without a guide you wouldn't really notice was happening.
I'd love to see a continuation of the "inner self" shadows of Persona 4 in some form or another, along with dungeons that follow these themes. I've always liked games that allow you to see inside a person's psyche (naturally that means I love Psychonauts) and I'm curious to see how far they can take it. I also hope that they somehow allow the player character to confront his shadow this time.
I liked the fact that in Persona 4 you could complete entire dungeons in a single day, and that they dropped the tiredness mechanic that made doing so much simpler, that made it much easier to plan out social links and status increases and such to complete.
Of course, the ability to manually control all the party made the fights a lot less luck based, I don't understand why P3 didn't have it to begin with. However, I'm hoping that multiple personas for everybody doesn't make a return, that would just make things more complicated than they need to be.
There's only one thing I can think of that I didn't like, that being the standard "if the protagonist dies, it's game over even though the rest of the party could easily revive them". That has always been ridiculous and prone to cheap game overs in any game that's ever featured it, Persona or no, and I don't get why game developers keep using it.
As for everything else, I can't think of anything in particular that bugged me.
