Also, it annoys me how there's been so much media coverage of the floods and cyclone but next to nothing about these fires. Typical, if it doesn't happen on the east coast it's no big deal.
OT: Yeah, it is a bit typical that us Eastern kiddies get more attention, but mind that the floods and cyclone (fndmlangdlkanklgad plural singular SO UNCOMFORTABLE) aren't getting much international attention either...

Also- yes, that is true, entirely. Arguably, though, because of the shocking images being released. I can't say that I really think that the international stage cares about which disaster is where in Australia, merely how new/shocking/deadly/sad it is.

I live in Sydney and there was a fire only about a mile away as the crow flies a few nights ago, but that always happens living near Lane Cove Park. The fire didn't jump the river, though, so no harm done.
