Good lord. Its not hard to achieve that shape. If you bind the head of a child with ropes in the proper fashion you can change the shape of the skull. This practice is quite common in South American societies. I would not be surprised if this was the case for that skull. It does not have to be a deformity, it was probably made to look that way, and it is certainly not an alien.

It's well known that the ancient civilizations like inca/aztec/mayan/olmec would distort the heads of infants to make them bigger and elongated. It's how their gods are depicted and they want the children to look similar. This is just one of hundreds of deformed skulls found through-out burial sites.

This. Here we have a strange shaped skull being found in an area where the ancient human inhabitants were known for binding their skulls into strange shapes. Now, I'm no doctor, but I am at least partially sane, and I think that qualifies me to say "No, it's not an alien skull... you silly sausage"

Although if it was an alien skull then that would beg a million more questions about the chances of an alien lifeform developing lightyears away from our planet, under completely different chemical, biological, atmospherical etc. conditions, and the bigget difference in their bone structure is having larger foreheads than us. I mean, if there is intelligent life in the universe capable of reaching earth we can be absolutely sure of one thing: They will look nothing like us.

Would an extra-terrestrial lifeform have a similar bone material to humans? These skulls are found in Peru quite frequently because of ancient skull-shaping techniques.

The teeth look weird though. Perhaps it's a Nosferatu vampire skull...

The way I look at it is that if it is an alien it doesn't matter to all us plebes because that information would probably never be released to the public despite all common sense, this makes it interesting, but largely irrelevent.

One point of consideration though is that we all know about cranial binding, deformities, and other things, and I'd imagine that was the reason for calling in multiple experts from more than one nation to examine the remains. The fact that the experts are not mentioned by name is actually the most compelling reason to doubt this, if not for that detail I might suspect they had found something unusual as opposed to this being an intentional overreaction for the lulz.

Nothing to do with this article, but truthfully I think those people who are so quick to scream "hoax" due to there being so many of them, are just as bad as those perpetuating the hoaxes. Especially when it comes down to a lot of debunkers and such being just as bad as the hoaxsters in many cases.

I'll be honest, that sounded kinda jerk-y.

If Horrible Histories is to be believed the Incas used to use wooden boards to mould the shape of a child's skull to resemble the mountain they would be sacrificed on so yeah, I imagine it's just an Incan corpse and the Russian scientists in question just weren't up to scratch on their Peruvian history.

Call me skeptical, but any being with a head the size of it's body doesn't seem like a viable creature. Though, maybe they pulled a buffalo and killed the freak in their horde.
