Please... turkeys are meant to be eaten.
Then why do they taste so good?!?

Seriously though, anyone think the change of pace in that letter is rather unsettling? Although I suppose more drastic change in tone could be seen on daily news...

[Male Reporter]: "5 million orphans were brutally slaughtered and eaten alive in the glorious name of Satan at a state-wide sacrificial ritual this morning. In other news, a local cat was saved from a tree by a daring hero."

*picture of cat on-screen*

[Male Reporter]: "Aww, just look at him, isn't he something?"

[Female Reporter]: "Perhaps the hero should get a medal for all nine lives he saved.

[Male Reporter]: *obviously forced laughter* Now, here's Tom with the weather.

EDIT: Forgive me, Mad World, I had misread your post.

For goodness sake. P.E.T.A is really working over-time on being annoyingly stupid this year.
nah, they're always like this.
Probably. I've just seen P.E.T.A posts all crammed together over the last few days, instead of spread out over a few months. lol

So many PETA threads on this site, Skyrim and PETA, the only two things a gaming website discusses.

...damn, free food. If i were the mayor of that town, i just might do it. free publicity, but more importatly free food, even if it isn't real meat. if they were serving an alternative to bacon or steak though, there would have to be... "words" spoken.

I'm sure that town's name is responsible for the deaths of thousands of turkeys around the nation. They should be ashamed.

Animals kill animals for food.
Humans are also biologically animals.
So if a tiger can kill a zebra, without PETA protesting him, so can humans.
And it's not like Turkeys are endangered.

Honestly I'm waiting for People for the Ethical Treatment of Plants to appea and make it obvious that we have to eat.

PETA does realize it's talking to Texas, right? I don't think the majority of a small Texan town called Turkey would appreciate a "healthy vegan Thanksgiving dinner..."
I realize that it's kind of a stereotype that Texan = super carnivore, but come on. I live in a relatively progressive town in the South, and I KNOW that shit wouldn't fly here.
As a Texan, even one of the ones that doesn't eat meat, I can still attest that that stereotype has a pretty firm basis in fact. Don't get me wrong, its not a vast majority that is like that, but most Texas residents that I know can fit that bill, where everyone loves their meat, thinks that you should have bacon in every meal, and that literally everything should be deep-fried.

And honestly? I wouldn't have it any other way.

You know what this reminds me of? The way CNN and MSNBC jumped all the freak over Sarah Palin when she did an interview at a Turkey farm one year, and there was a guy slaughtering a turkey in the background. It is the first and only time I have ever completely agreed with that woman. Where do people who are North of the mason dixon but south of Canada think their food comes from, anyway?

A bit more on topic: It's turkey. You eat it. Personally, I prefer duck or chicken, but PETA's being, well, PETA if they think this will get people to eat tofurkey.

Oh, PETA, why you so silly?

Also, I wonder if any of PETA's stunts are serious, or if they're just run by professional trolls...

I think my brain just broke from reading the stupidity that was PETA's suggestion.

PETA should know you don't mess with Texas.
That slogan is actually an anti-littering campaign for Texan highways. Everyone seems to think it means Texas will beat anyone's ass at any time though.

Can I ask something?

Can we just... stop acknowledging PETA at all, forever?

They used to be fun to revile, then just funny to watch. The joke has passed. Or rather, it should've passed, but people keep talking about it.

Acknowledging their antics is just giving them time in front of the camera. Please- don't.
