I don't understand what they are complaining about, cruelty is what makes the food taste so good.

Cruelty... You know what that means. ITS BASH TIME!

<+Huitzil> PETA is starting a campaign stating that the secret ingredient in KFC chicken is "cruelty"
<+Huitzil> cruelty is apparently the most fucking delicious thing on Earth
<@Dracos> Yes. It is.
<@Dracos> Which is why veal is the best food ever.

So obviously cruelty is the most delicious thing on earth. I am now going to add it to all my meals.
Lets play spot the reference!

Here you go it is: This is delicious!

OT: I thought the funniest part of the whole damn thing is on the first link it said "PETA's Unhappy Meal reminds us that there are no federal laws protecting chickens in slaughterhouses and that it's up to McDonald's to require that its suppliers stop breaking chickens' wings and legs and scalding them alive." It actually made me think that the author was secretly trying to take the piss out of PETA.

I'm only interested when PETA makes a game. Other than that, I just dismiss it as more activist shenanigans.

Cows and chickens are to retarded to suffer.

Before anyone says otherwise, go meet a farm animal. They are fucking stupid.

I don't see why this action would result in even more PETA hate. They have a good point:

In the slaughterhouses of McDonald's U.S. and Canadian chicken suppliers, birds are dumped out of their transport crates and hung upside-down in metal shackles, which often results in broken bones, extreme bruising, and hemorrhaging. Workers have the opportunity to abuse live birds, and birds have their throats cut while they are still conscious. Many birds are immersed in tanks of scalding-hot water while they are still alive and able to feel pain.

McDonald's has the ability to end these abuses.

There is a less cruel method of chicken slaughter available to McDonald's suppliers called controlled-atmosphere killing, or CAK, and it would cost the corporation nothing to demand that its suppliers use it. CAK would eliminate the worst abuses currently suffered by chickens killed for McDonald's. In fact, a 2005 study about CAK produced by McDonald's concluded that it is far better for animals than the current method of slaughter.
So they want a quick and clean way to kill animals instead of having them suffer so long before being killed. Is that really such a bad cause? They're not asking McDonalds to close down all their stores and they're not asking people to stop visiting McDonalds. So I really have a hard time understanding the "DAMN YOU PETA!" and "PETA can go fuck itself" reactions.
The problem is, instead of launching an informational and educational program preaching for meat industry reform, PETA launches these campaigns that get laughs from meat eaters instead of causing people to think about what their eating. This kind of looniness gets ignored, not brought to the surface.

I will always oppose any group who opposes medical advancement in favor of saving the rats bred for medical experiments. To quote the all mighty Penn Gillete:
"I would personally strangle to death every single chimpanzee in the world, with my bare hands, to save one street junkie with AIDs."
Also, PETA has this habit of showing disturbing footage with no explanation or back story, looking like it was just taken out of context. I just ignore their psychotic ramblings. It's not that I don't like animals, I strongly support IFAW and Voiceless, but these guys are just PURE AND SIMPLE BULLSHIT.

That seems pretty stupid. Almost as stupid as processed meat causing cancer, yet health officials had to go spoil that too...

You know, I used to respect PETA.. Before I learned to read. And demonizing Ronald McDonald is kinda like the movie IT. Kids that see it fear clowns coming after them like they did to the chickens... Fuckin clowns.

*whilst eating some tasty tasy animal flesh*

What i dont understand, Peta are trying to get people to go herbivore, yet in some campaigns use nude models. My friend [who is veggie] actually asked some other veggies that isnt using nude ladies sexist? and they apparantly turned round and said 'yeah but sexism will always exist, we cant change that'

so, they want to change peoples eating habits but cant change peoples "sexist views"? hmm i smell hypocrisy

:Le sigh: Not surprising in the least honestly. I'm completely over this stuff. If PETA wants to keep destroying any semblance of respect that the general public has for them then more power to them.
You say that, but there are dipshits who follow and believe PETA's shit. For some reason, any cult can get an audience these days, it seems.

Ha, yeah, that sounds about right: "Sure, we can change the biological fact we need certain vitamns and minerals from animals, and that meat tastes good, but trying to change the cultural nature of people, well, we don't ask for miracles!"

Damn you PETA!

I thought KFC was the enemy, so I stopped eating there! Now McDonalds are evil too.

Mind you, they are only complaining about the chicken at McDonalds. Which I have not and do not eat. Don't go to fast food restaurants much anyway.

Still, nice one for updating me on the situation. No surprise that these big corporations put profits before the welfare of the animals they farm.

People who complain against this should be sent to a small dank cell, where they are fattened up they die.

hmmm, come to think of it. Isn't that a good solution to societies paedophile problem? We could eat them! The McPeado Meal. errr, anyway I am getting off-topic.
