Hey long time no post guys, but I caught something that really Grinds My Gears.
Peta for kids.
http://www.petakids.com/save_animals.asp
There are so many issues with this page.
THis is a stupidly misinformed site that is aimed at impressionable 5 year olds to force their stupid beliefs on stupid kids stupid stupid.
And, I'm not incredibly right wing or anything,These guys just have it so very wrong it's scary.
"Does your school have a student-choice policy allowing students the right to refuse to dissect? Are there animals being held hostage at your school, commonly known as ?classroom pets? or ?hatching experiments?? Do your teachers plan yearly field trips to the zoo? It?s your school, too, and that means that your voice counts, so speak up and let your teachers know that there are alternatives to animal exploitation*. And don?t forget to recruit your classmates to help you tackle these issues!"
*And if you don't know how, PETA will do school assignments FOR you(?!!)
Look, I don't know if I'm overreacting, but it seems to me that it's scarily misinformed and that sites like this shoud not be aimed at such a young age, especially something so contreversial. Scaring kids out of absolutely anything and telling them to yell the slogans at any potential friend is a good way for the kid to not make friends, the most important thing to learn at that age.
It jsut seems so...Wrong...
