You see ... this is how it starts ...
Next thing you know we're going to hear that Molyneux has created 8 Robot Masters and is trying to take over the world ...

I can't help but think that depending on how much press this things gets his estimates for 'a couple of weeks' might be painfully off the mark. What if every WoW subscriber popped in to click the block six times?

60 Million seems like it would be easily achieved by any large number of people. Sixty clicks from a million people? Six hundred from a hundred thousand? I'm not convinced it would be in anyone's interest to buy a chisel out of 'curiosity' so much as 'competitiveness'.

This guy is the best. I don't even care if he hasn't made a good game in a decade. Shine on you crazy diamond.
True that. He keeps the video game industry newsreel entertaining at any rate.

I'd tap that.

I mean the cube. I want to tap it right now. When will we be able to tap it? I am so curious!

This is an incredibly lazy attempt at...I'm not even sure what, artiness maybe? What will he do for the second experiment? Just a counter that increases every second you have the app running and the more of his games you've purchased the faster it goes up?

Why does he still get this publicity? He hasn't had a good idea since the nineties.

Personally I find this to be a rather interesting idea. It may be completely worthless, but it'll be interesting to watch. I'm most curious what will happen when either the person who opens the cube somehow deletes the result, or when somebody manages to find and spoil it early.

That's a good point. Surely at least a few people will just hack the program defeating the point... Or maybe that is the point?

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a million dollars in the cube. I can't think of anything else that could actually be all that life changing.
Or, knowing the size of Molyneux's ego, the "life changing moment" could be to meet him. LOL. ;-)

...Half-Life 3 is inside that thing, isn't it?
Ninja'd.

At any rate in this day and age of the internet whoever wins the damn thing will just share it with the rest of the world and within 48 hours anyone who cares enough to click on that link will know.

I think the people that make and use bots for these repetitive things will be plenty curious. Honestly though, I'm not curious at all, because Molyneux is dead to me.

It's gonna be some Willy Wonka shit, just watch. Whoever breaks the last cube inherits Moleynuex's insane video game factory.

I won't be taking part here, more than likely, but even so I'm intrigued, and have been since it was first announced. But I'd most of all love to see these 22 Experiments linked together in some way. Every experiment is a seperate key to some overriding puzzle or challenge or a larger experiment, that only becomes clear at the conclusion of the 22nd experiment. Maybe have them all unified by a common theme, or have seemingly unrelated puzzles linked in some way that it takes a lot of thought and analysis to guess. Basically creating a massive web that ties every aspect of the Experiments together, leading to an even more life-changing conclusion at the very end... :D

And once again Peter Molyneux overhypes his own work, thus ensuring that people will be disappointed with the finished product.
I think he's required by law to be as disappointing as he is aggrandizing.

On the other hand, he is having a lot of fun and I really can't blame him for that.

This comes to mind every time I hear about this.

And I honestly want it to be nothing but a note saying "You just spent time and money taking apart a box. I hope you've learned something."

BTW, I bet the money is going to go to some charity, and the thing in the cube will detail how you've positively impacted lives with your overpriced chisel. At least that's what I'd do.
That's not a bad idea. A cash lottery (as others have speculated) is going to be illegal in most of the developed world. I like it.

What if everyone wants to be the last person and so to save money, little to no one actually chips away at it?

Sounds like silly a waste of time and money to me.

Even if you get given all the money everyone paid at the end there is so small a chance you will be the one to do it it isn't even worth thinking about.
