Hey guys, I'm an Australian gamer trying to do something about the lack of an R rating.

You may have read Yahtzee's article about the problem.

Recently, Michael Atkinson, the idiot causing all the ruckus, has attacked our film industry too.

You can read the article here-

or if you're inclined, watch this video by the legendary Blunty3000, he explains it better-

When you're done, I've started a petition to try and get something done- please sign it, and pass it on to people you know.

Yeah, I kind of feel bad for the Australians who have to put up with it.

I highly, highly doubt Michael Atkinson will pay the slightest bit of attention to it, but I'll sign it anyway. Even though I'm American, I'm tired of that ignorant windbag.

You know, since you mentioned Yahtzee in your post, it seems fitting I do so in my reply.

From The Australian Gamer Podcast, Live At GenConOz, The Yahtz Man Himself: "Oh yes, E-petition's, because they always work out so fucking well. We can send them one five miles wide, and they'll just go 'Meh'. What can we do other then wait for the current incumbants to die or be voted out?"

Which accurately sums my feelings for E-petitions. But luckily enough, since he said that, the Australian Government did actually put out an offical R-18 Rating Discussion, you could probably find it if you used the google magic.

Yo protaginist, I totally see where you're coming from, and usually I'd agree with Yahtzee.

Why am I trying this? I don't know exactly, usually I'm about as cynical with this stuff as Yahtzee is.

I was kinda inspired by the Facebook group that tried to get people to buy Rage Against the Machine music so it would be the UK number one song on the Christmas charts, rather than another shitty X-Factor contestant for like, the fourth year in a row.

Nobody thought it would work, but it did- RATM is even playing a free concert in celebration of the victory against shitty music.

As silly as that may sound, I feel it's worth a shot.
