Hi, Im trying to get signatures in protest to a large oil drill in Dublin Bay Ireland this year. In the event of a spill it could have a disastrous effect on both marine and human life on the coast.

If you feel like signing heres the link:

Thanks in advance guys

But surely drilling for oil is a good thing? With the fossil fuels rappidly running out we need more cheap sources until renewable energy can be propery sourced and we don't have to rely on it anymore! And isn't oil spillage just a risk that is taken everytime they drill in a new spot? If we didn't take that risk we wouldn't be able to get any oil, which means we wouln't be able to run thousands of machines and cars etc... so for that reason... i'm out!

Furthermore, the petition page states that it is an EU protected area and that it would be ileagal to drill there... If that is the case then why do you need a petition?

Actually the drilling would generate very little for Ireland itself but rather the private company which will most likely be going out of the country. Even if it was generating cash there is no excuse for creating such a blatent risk to the bay, not to mention the damage it could do to the fishing industry off the coast. I would have thought the Gulf of Mexico incident would have been enough to show that.

A little support would be nice rather than taking time to say "not signing". Thats just being rude.
