I honestly don't understand why people care about this kind of thing. Leaving aside the fact that it's not even made yet, and so could end up being the most powerful piece of cinema ever created (unlikely, but I'm making a point), people have absolutely nothing to lose with regards to this film. Don't like Michael Bay; don't go see the film, you lose neither your time nor money. Don't like the idea of the turtles as aliens: don't go see the film, you lose neither your time nor money. Don't even like TMNT anyway; don't go see the film, you lose neither your time nor money.
Seriously, this film changes absolutely nothing about the original cartoons, they still exist for people to enjoy. It's not like this film would wipe them from existence and be the only remnant of TMNT entertainment left. How about instead of signing an online petition that will accomplish precisely nothing, you spend that time watching the cartoons that you love?
