So Sega announced Phantasy Star Online 2 at TGS and from the looks of it, its a sequel to Episode 1 and 2 series (even the same font of the logo which changed for Universe.) I am really happy though so far its only been announced for PC...

Which isn't bad but I hope it comes to the ps3 with split-screen like Episode 1 and 2 had. Split-screen made the game soooo much fun. :)

Anyone else excited about PSO2?

Yeah episode 1 and 2 where epic in splitscreen but the pc version had tons of more content :/
Splitscreen is pretty much the only reason id go for console instead of pc.
Though pc games sometimes get splitscreen nowadays ala l4d :/

FUCK YES!!

I played PSO so much back in the day. My brother and I had so much fun with this game. No game has ever made me more excited about special items. Those beautiful crimson boxes will remain in my memory forever.

I loved it on the dreamcast. I lost so much time to that game. Once they started to charge a subscription I never touched it again. I won't pay to play.

Why not bring back the BB servers, have a update for it to use them charge 15$ a month for it or 25$ a month for it and PSO2 or 10$ for PSO2.

PSU sucks.....

how so? there was little difference between the two on that one.

on PC, you WASD your way around, use r to autorun, and your action keys are the directional buttons.

on the controller, movement on the left, attacks on the right.

at least on the PC you had the option for a hotbar below.

also, I have two words to finish the console version of the game, and put it in the grave.

disco falz.

besides the hotbar playing on the PC was slightly ackward, having to press the arrow keys to attack and not being able to use the mouse was wierd. It made it so at times the camera could get wierd and hard to hit enimies sometimes.

I played a lot of BB and the console game and I clearly saw combat was much more fluid on consoles then PC. Only advantage PC ppl had was hot bars but even then on consoles with the tap of two buttons it brought up a quick menu to change weapons, use items and spells.

the console's version had no better a camera.

in split-screen, it was just plain abysmal.

explain why? Split-screen was great.

the camera was the same but on consoles it was easier to control it.

While I'm glad they returned to from after the disaster that was PSU, I am saddened by their decision to make it PC-only. Sega aren't known for their quality PC outings requirements wise. Plus while I do play and enjoy BB online, it is not the same as in split screen, with my 3 friends around. Not by a long shot. I don't think I'll be bying it because of no split screen and let's not forget who's the boss in PC online RPGs, and I doubt many will shell out cash for yet another of its kind. Releasing it on a console would make more sense in my head. Oh well.

the overall experience was okay enough, but the screens were often claustrophobic, especially on the first boss, where the game would attempt to look up without room.

I dunno, the zoom was too far in, the control of it was inflexible, and really, it hurt. one of the few things I was glad they did in universe was add camera control, even if it was as mediocre as the rest of the game.
