Ever get those moments where your body reacts to something that isn't there? I can't tell you how many times I've felt my cellphone buzz in my pocket when I don't have it with me. Other times I'll be randomly browsing the internet, reading about ants and I'll feel phantom bug bites.

It's annoying and I'm wondering if you guys know the feeling. Sometimes it just makes me feel a little bit insane. I KNOW THERE AREN'T ANY ANTS THERE, STOP ITCHING!

Erm...

Post your thoughts...

I think everyone with a cell phone has experienced phantom buzzing.

Except me, as I have no friends to text me. foreveralone.jpg

OT: I've felt the bug thing before as well. I hate that.

Phantom sunglasses

Now that it's getting towards summer, and thus brighter outside, I find myself wearing my sunglasses all the time. They're mostly either covering my eyes or resting on top of my head, and rarely do I remove them completely unless I'm home. But when I do, it'll feel like they're still perched on my dome, even when I'm staring at them on the desk in front of me.

When my cats had fleas, I kept thinking they were crawling on me. And I don't know if this counts, but when I was I kid I kept on thinking I was hearing music from pokemon, even when my gameboy was off.

I can't even count the number of times that I think I feel my phone buzz, only to whip it out and discover that it was nothing.

There are also plenty of times I look at my phone and find several messages, even though I never felt or heard the buzz. :/

Yup, definitely the phantom texts. Kind of seems sad though, like your mind is that desperate for attention that it fabricates that vibration feeling.

Don't know if it's considered a phantom body reaction but I took a nap once last year and within a few minutes, I was dreaming I was running through a forest. As I stepped on a slippery, mossy rock, my leg wildly spasmed and I violently woke up. It was a pretty jarring experience for something that didn't actually happen.

There's a man who goes to my church who had his arm ripped off by a service elevator, he says he can still feel it sometimes.

Yea this happens a lot. There is of course the phone buzzing and bugs, as well as glasses (especially because I switch between contacts and glasses). Also, I work at a petrol station and the computer beeps if someone picks up a pump. I swear I have heard that noise so many times and there hasn't been a soul. Oh and a watch. If you wear a watch for a long time then don't have it on, it feels as if it's still there.

I've had that when I was sleeping several times, like, I fall, and as I'm about to hit the ground I wake up suddenly and jerk around, or I get hit by something, it's wierd.
Annnnd this. I'm glad I'm not the only weird one.

Yea I sometimes feel my cell go off and its not with me. (Perhaps its the first sign of a impending heart attack) I also tend to see things out of the corner of my eye, (such as bug like spots or flashes of light) drives me crazy.

Well last week at work there was a swarm of european wasps by the work bins and even though I didn't go near them I felt like they were crawling on me and stinging me.

I get phantom pain in areas with dead nerves sometimes, you can't stop it, pain killers do nothing, you know there's no reason for it, but it hurts...

I have ants in my room right now, and I keep feeling like they're crawling on me when they're not.

...Of course, sometimes there really is an ant on me... Guh.

Red, mate, you've really gotta stop hating on the insects! =P

OT: Occasionally, the muscles around my left collarbone will spasm for about half a second before stopping, whereupon it itches for about thirty seconds. Weird and unexplained...

^This. I frequently hear music when none is playing. It happened a lot when I was younger, especially with games like Pokemon and Dragon Warrior Monsters

If I've been wearing a hat for a long period, then take it off, I'll repeatedly go to take the hat off my head only to find that it isn't really there, it just feels as though it is.

I occasionally get the odd tickle, but I put it down to body hair. Slightly off topic, but when I'm very tired and about to drift off to sleep I hallucinate noises and wake up. Nothing sinister, usually a voice saying my name or something from throughout the day, but it puts me on edge.

The door swings both ways. They just need to stop hating me.
Oh, tosh, old boy! Most of them love you, while the rest just want to eat you, but there're no hard feelings at all! XD None at all! =_=
