Well I had trouble getting through the Intestinal Fortitude level in Gears 2 due to my phagophobia. Most of the time I won't even play a game if it has vore in it.

Crustaceans.

Crabs, Lobsters, whatever.

I can't stand to even look at a picture of the things in reality or ingame.

The worst was this Ninja game on the PS1, where at ne point on the demo level if you fell there was giant crabs to kill you. ._.

At what did I discover a few years later? There IS giant Japanese spider crabs, in the Manchester museum they have one in the lobby area, it was a ***** to avoid.

Is there even a name for a phobia of crabs?

Water or more to the point its the fear of drowning, I FUCKING HATE WATER LEVELS!

Mario 64, the Jolly Roger Bay level scared the shit out of me having to swim in the lake to the ship was a nightmare for me, the Dry Dry Dock gave me bloody night makes with that fucking whirlpool take Mario down and killing with out a fight. The Wet Dry World I could handle better then the others because you can control the water level by how high you jump in the painting but still its unnerving being near deep water.

and don't get me started on Zelda water temples or the Banjo Kazzoy water levels, they forced me to go in to the water and swim in it! WHY!

Use to be bothered with zombies I suppose. Although now that I look back I believe it had more to do with my dislike of the usual rubbish storylines most horror games have. I actually like the sudden jump out of your seat thrill, although still find survival horror games dull.

So no phobias for me. I generally become far too cruel in some video games to be afraid of anything. Giant spiders? Yeah I have shotguns, flamethrowers, lasers, machine guns, grenades or a frigging chainsaw. I welcome spiders, the living dead, sharks or whatever to even try and I relish in tormenting them.

My wife freaks out everytime she sees a spider in any of my games. She couldn't even handle the Driders from Baldur's Gate Dark Aliance. lol.

My biggest fear in games is failing. That the game may win. That I will be humiliated by a hunk of plastic. One day it will realize it has outsmarted me as it becomes self aware. Then it will take over the toaster. And we will all have to live in a world where we are forced to eat muffins for breakfast. All because I failed to beat a level. A toastless world is my biggest gaming fear.

None of my phobias have manifested due to a game. That said, after the first time I played the hotel part of Call of Cthulhu had subsequently died, I have yet to pick the game back up because it genuinely freaked me out. I got a little too immersed in that game, actual flight or flight responses kicked in and was shaking afterward thanks to the adrenalin dump.

Nope needles only bother me when they are going in my arm not in my videogame character's arm.
I've always wondered if people with a needle phobia could handle playing BioShock, or if it would mess with them.

I don't have any phobias.
Having a phobia of needles myself, I may be able to answer this for you. The first time through, when you first get the electricity plasmid, that was damn near enough for me to quit. However, after having to refill EVE about 4 or 5 times, it didn't bother me as much.

I used to have this minor fear that I would be alienated by the whole "Multiplayer" thing with games due to real human beings not being AI bots, which kept me on single player for a long time.

Then I found out it wasn't so bad, and so I help newbs when I meet them.

Swimming in deep, open water. I'm terrified something is going to swim up out of no where and devour me.

I can't even handle the water colossi in Shadow of the Colossus. I have to ask someone else to do it for me.

i have a phobia of having to reload to a point i was at 2 hours ago so i'm a save freak saving every like 5 mins
In an area with one enemy and down to one HP and the save point is in the next room. Doesn't so much give me the heebs but pisses me the hell off and makes me paranoid...which I guess isn't quite the same as having a phobia now that I think about it.
