Someone I know had a severe case of vertigo when playing Assassin's Creed.
There isn't an FPS you can put in front of my fiancee that won't give her vertigo.
What if I put it on the floor?
Vertigo is just a certain type of dizziness, so I doubt that would help. Usually after about 30 seconds she gets motion sickness. I remember AnP 2 (I think) where you get to play as a baby facehugger, running up and down the walls and across the ceiling, really did her in.
Give her something like Katamari instead, or a nice 2d platformer like the New Super Mario Bros.

Yeah, Runner's Vision is an optional feature of the game and can be turned off. It makes the game slightly more challenging, but doesn't ruin the game. You can easily play the game without the red hinting.

Ooh man, I'm like that too. Fast movements and lots of blurring in video games make me really dizzy. Almost every FPS known to man is unplayable, going all the way back to Wolfenstein 3D. I wish I could play Left4Dead since it sounded so good, but alas it's out of the cards.

Tried playing an online game of Counterstrike once. That ended about ten minutes later with me laying down and gripping the mattress so I didn't fall to the ceiling.

Oddly enough, she loved Morrowind, and beat it. But, she played it in third person mode, which to me would be too weird. But ya, she's usually into gentler games like The Sims and Animal Crossing.

Whatever you do, don't let her play Descent.

I don't think she'd be able to play it for more than five to ten seconds. Hell, I hardly ever get motion sickness and I have trouble with that game at times.

unlucky, maybe you should try fiddling with colour settings until it works. I looked at the games and instantly thought that it would make a lot of people sick to play it because the camera moves in a way that would make certain people nauseous.
