I totally see your point, but then again I see a lot of actors pull that shtick so it doesn't bother me personally. The first thing I saw DeCaprio in was Romeo and Juliet so it stuck with me. Didn't help I was like 12 and developed a big ole crush there.SmashLovesTitanQuest said:Hey, I was just saying. Something to consider though.pixiejedi said:I get it. He is awesome, just roll in the Departed, Blood Diamond and Inception and he is like the serious sorta too self righteous actor of our time.SmashLovesTitanQuest said:Daniel Day Lewis because hes just... breathtaking.
If I can get the old, pre batman Christian Bale back then probably him.
And if I can get the old, brilliant golden hair just legal Emma Watson back, then her, because my aim in life is to marry that beautiful, slightly misled, witty, polite and just downright HOT woman. But with short hair? Why would you do such a thing, Emma. Stop playing the feminist girl and just get down here so I can ask you out on a date.
Thinking about it, she might be a lesbian, kinda makes sense... Mhhh...

WHY.jpg
No seriously, why? Im truely interested. I think hes a terrible actor and couldnt see why anyone would keep him alive, thats why im asking, but then again, its just my opinion and I can see why people like him. And even as a straight guy I have to admit if I wasnt, he would certainly take the place of Emma Watson in my imaginary list of the most beautiful actresses (in that case actors).
(Look, im not some stalker freak, I just really like Emma Watson. Might have something to do with me, as a child, being a potter fan and then when I was getting interested in girls and that stuff, the 4th HP movie comes out and suddenly BAM! Super hot charming Emma Watson on screen, nothing left of the Hermione Granger she was 5 minutes before. Caught my heart off guard and then took it by storm.)
Ever realized that he always plays the same guy? The handsome heartthrob who has big things to do but slowly finds himself struggling with a bad past and being overwhelmed by the problems at hand? That in every fucking movie that guy then comes back at the end, his righteousness winning over his inner conflicts? And god knows he lets us know about those inner conflicts. If DDL had not been in Gangs of New York, I dont think I would have watched more than half an hour of it because throughout the whole film Mr Dicaprio whines and cries and struggles and narrates the whole thing in this pained voice, until you just want the butcher to stick a big knife in him already and be done with it. Same story in Inception.
Now, anyhow, im not saying you shouldnt like the character just because I dont. Im saying a guy who plays the same role in every film he was in in the last 10 years is not a good actor. One could argue hes not an actor at all. Hes certainly unworthy of making it onto any top 10 list of the top actors of our time, if acting skill is the only factor being taken into consideration, which it isnt here. I kind of dragged this thread into waters it shouldnt be in, and I apologize for that, but anyhow, at the end of the day, I think hes a terrible actor and refuse to watch the movies starring him until he changes it up a bit, and everyone else can love the ever fucking crap out of him for all I care. I have my opinion on him, and its not more than that, and you have yours, as well as everyone else on this world, and we can all be happy.
One more thing though: his performance in the modern day adaption of Romeo and Juliet was A++++++. Couldnt have been better. Maybe thats why I hate him so much, when I think about the films hes done I cant help but feel there is missed potential.
EDIT: AND OH HOLY FUCK HIT ME IN THE FACE FOR THIS I forgot that Whats eating a grapefruit or whatever the fuck movie. He was good in that too, but its also a long time ago. And I cant remember the proper title. Really good movie though.
