Im interested in buying a monitor, I dont really need one right now as I have a laptop (An Alienware im trying to sell) so when it is sold I will be buying a desktop. I have some cash after selling my drumkit so im thinking of getting the peripherals now.

I really want a monitor capable of HDMI and possibly with Video-In ports as it will basically be replacing my tv (Im want to play my consoles through it aswell as use it for computer stuff)

Also I would like one with a high refresh rate (I cant remember exactly what the term is but its basically when movies or games are shown running very smoothly without any noticeable frame lag. I know its measured sort of like '200W' or '150V' or something like that on TV's)

My choices thus far are the BenQ E2420HD 24" LCD
And the
Samsung BX2440 24" LED

Any other suggestions? (Must be able to get in australia and highest I will pay is $400-$500 AUS

The one im using is a high quality one. Its a LG E2350V (23" LED LCD), cost me $299 AU (Xmas sale) but its very good quality and 2 years warrenty.

If not the Samsung is a good one to go, very good warrenty with them.

Well, I'm using an LG Flatron 23".

It's got two inputs (DVI-I and Standard VGA) which I split between two machines, the picture is very clear, it refreshes fast enough to prevent "ghosting" while I game, and it was cheap!

Yeah, that's the same one! Escapist's think alike, it seems.

I have a Samsung 24", albeit of a different model (it's a 2333 rather than a 2440), and I've had absolutely zip problems with it. My t'other monitor is a Samsung 24" TV, and again I've had zero problems with it.

I honestly know zip about the technical aspect of monitors, but I'd vouch for my Samsungs being decent.

I'd recommend the ASUS VW246H 24". It has a 2ms refresh rate, a beautiful display, and the following inputs: HDMI (1x), VGA (1x), and DVI (1x).

Picked one up recently, and I'm looking at getting a second one to replace my secondary monitor.

What I'm using it for: My 360 and my gaming tower. I stream Netflix from my 360 to it from time-to-time, and I think it offers a much better picture than our TV from a few years ago (a Sony Bravia 32").
