My favourite pie is-- oh wait, I've never had pie. My country doesn't know pie. :(

The only pie I know is Pie Magazine, where my game reviews are published. *coughshamelessplugcough*

-EDIT-
For the record, when I hear 'pie' I think of something delicious filled with fruit, not meat.
No pie?

Truly, your home is a hellish place to live.

I will mourn you.

I may very well do a beer thread actually, there are some damn fine pints brewed over here.
Sadly, this is one competition Britain falls short in; we may have some fine brews, but fair few of them contest the American Budweiser. We can't be the champions of everything, we may only hand over the pint glass with dignity.

OT: There is no better pie than a steak and kidney pie. Some may recoil in disgust at the mere thought of kidney, but the combination of texture and taste with the steak and the gravy make it wonderful. Oh how I love a steak and kidney pie on a Monday.

I don't know, we may not make decent beer, but we make damn fine ale.

Abbot ale is like a pint of god's tears.

He said "Beer". That piss-coloured fizzy drink that you refer to is known in civilisation as "Lager". Only Americans (and marketing execs who think the rest of us will buy it just because it's American) insist on calling it beer.

Got to love pies in all their forms.

A good steak pie is something every man should have most day. Although a macaroni or lasagne pie comes close.

It was a depressing day when I finished the last mince pie after Christmas knowing it would be almost a whole year until I could have another.

Partly my fault. What I meant was that I'd start a thread about the pint.

Eh, it's not such a bad place. The 'no pie' thing pisses me off, though.

You want to help? Don't mourn me - bake a pie, package it so it stays fresh and send it to me!

You forgot to point out that Cornish pasties look like stegosaurus making them automatically more awesome than other foodstuffs.

Sure, if you're a woman.

Or French.

This is a fact I had not noticed.

Is this shame I feel?

Well there is a theory that T-rex's only ate Stegosaurus because they looked like Cornish pasties so their stealth capabilities were played down in advertising.

I can see no reason why that would be incorrect.

You can call them pies all you want, it still doesn't change the fact that real pies have meat and t'gravy.

I seriuosly think meat pies are complete blasphemy. They don't taste at all and just give me a dry taste in my mouth for the rest of the day. The only type of meat pies i tolerate are chiken pies. Don't even get me started on the spicy heresy that is eastern pies, blech.

I mostly just stick with my good old lemon marngue and rhubarb pies thank you very much.

Beer's a generic term to refer to lager, stout, ale and the like. I couldn't tell you a drink that is only considered beer, it's always one of the sub-categories. Feel free to refute me, I'm in the mood to be wrong right now. Take haste, mind you, such moods seldom occur.

I'm not an ale man myself, it may be upbringing or it may be age, it could be a lot of things, but ale is not my pint of tea.

I may have fucked up my metaphor.

I've been making a different country-themed pie each Friday, or Pieday as I call it, for the past month or so. Last week was a sumptuous hoisin duck pie (for China). This week; chicken and lamb tikka pie with mashed sag aloo. Mmmm pie.

Hoisin duck pie.

Why does that sound like the best tasting thing I can imagine?
