Good review, and I liked it compared to your other ones. The game was so-so at best, taking most of the good things from Baldur's Gate and making them into ME's gameplay.

i havent read other of your reviews, but this was quite good.

i cant understand how the fuck they fucked up both cutscene framerate AND graphics on the consoles however.

pros of this game:

-brilliant story and dialogue.
-great characters.
-fast-paced action RPG (on consoles).
-really douchy villain (Loghain).
-Oghren is hilarious.
-Epic soundtrack.

cons:

-graphics and framerate fuck-up on consoles.
-Zev wanting to sex you (IT WAS ONLY FOR THE TROPHY  ).
-predictable plot twists.
-Anora is a double-crossing ***** (was pretty much the only thing i said to her during the entire Landsmeet).

Loved the game. Loved your review.

My sole complaint about the game? No option to create an unarmed specialist. I know that's par for the course in most RPGs, but I just love the idea of punching a fully armored despot in the junk and sending him flying into a wall. Yeah, I pretty much roleplay as Kenshiro from Fist of the Northstar in every RPG if I can get away with it.

It would have made the city elf origin mission even more epic.

Great review. I will definitely get this game when it falls below the 40 dollars mark.

Its lines like these,

pimppeter2 said:
Individuals you have wronged that are out for revenge will give up with a simple ?are you sure you want to do that?? Soldiers working for enemy generals will completely shift alliances with your shockingly diplomatic one liners. Women and Demons alike will swoon at your irresistible pick up lines. And Storm troopers will decide that these are in fact, not the droids that they are looking for.
that make your reviews so damn entertaining.
Another great review.

Superb review. Hadn't thought about how silly the persuade option can be. Love the game though. Only one more treaty!!

Thanks for the criticisms man. Will listen to them for my next review.

Hehe. I occasionally switched for Zeveran because I found Liliana annoying.

Haha. I thought it was under 'Two Handed' at first and I kept on putting points into it. I felt stupid when I found out.

I also read your Oblivion review and both of them were well written and fun to read.

I've read several of your reviews and, as usual, they're pimpin', pimpin'.

With that out of the way... I think I'm the only RPG lover that just never got into DAO. The world was awesome, as is usual for Bioware, but the whole "silent protagonist" just really irked me. Maybe it's from coming off the high of bioware's last game, Mass Effect 1, and it's excellently written Commander Shephard, but the silent protagonist and the dialogue system in DAO just didn't cut it for me.

World was awesome, combat was standard but shiny (I played a mage and monsters tend to zero in on them with their mage-dar), but the blight of the game isn't the demons or whathaveyou, it's the player. NPCs end up feeling more real than the PC when it comes to dialogue. I just felt awkward, like the 5th wheel in a group of friends. They would react only if I said something special, but the conversation almost always went down the same route unless I spastically shouted something along the lines of "I STAB YOU DEAD".

I'm still on the fence on this one, on the one hand, it sounds like a pretty generic RPG, and on the other, the actual game part of it sounds quite good. I don't know... I'll probably just wait for Bioshock 2.

Zevran was Spanish.

Gotta agree with the lack of Protagonist VO - I was a little disappointed when I found out but it didn't hinder things all too much.

I just finished my first playthrough yesterday and I absolutely loved it - the way they handle the ending is exceptionally good. I know there's many ways it can end, but the overall structure of the ending remains the same I guess and it was wonderfully handled.

The world was deep and so were the characters - it was actually funny at times (when it intended to be) but remained serious whilst staying engaging.

I was the same - I bought it just to tide me over but, well, see above.

Yup. I agree 100%. Still, I found the game very good. Its probably just because I like fantasy RPGs so much :)

Yes, the ending. Fucking Christ that boss was tough as balls. I loved it. I can't wait for the Expansion

That may just be sentence that persuades me to buy it. Thank you.
What and my entire review didn't?

I kid I kid. Trust me. Even if you don't love the game, you'll still find it more enjoyable than 90% of the games released soon.

He he, I feel kinda dirty because I played on [small]easy[/small] as I'd been told by everyone normal and up was brutally hard, and I really ain't a planning sort of guy - now I know the ins and outs of combats I'm going to try a harder level. I still won't use that tactics sheet though, I much prefer direct control.

The hardest encounter for me was the end to Morrigan's side-quest.

Morrigan+Alistair+Leliana in party = awesome banter [especially if you're in a romance with Morrigan].

Great game, with a few flaws, its not QUITE Baldur's Gate 3...but its damned close. Managed to sink about 50 hours or so into it too, without hitting a huge amount of filler, which is pretty impressive. I think the underground dwarven areas were my least favourite.
