I really wish they would stop releasing so many expansions. I'm still two expansions behind. I'm not going to mindlessly buy every single one obviously, but the ones I'm eyeballing look really interesting. So damn expensive too.

I think they've now officially covered the entire NinjaPirateZombieRobot spectrum in the Sims franchise.

I'll admit it---I've given EA way too much of my money on their digital ant farm over the years. It may not be standard policy for a core gamer to admit this, but I like The Sims.
Nah I've been playing Quake III Arena for almost 10 years now and I do say I like The Sims as well.

I thought this would be about pirates stealing the game. I'm pleasantly surprised that it's about DLC instead.

Also, this DLC is better than any kind of ninja DLC that has been or ever possibly will be released for the game. Why? Because pirates are better than ninjas of course.

They're STILL making sims games? I got over the sims long before they started releasing expansions...after all, doesn't custom content kinda trump any DLC/expansion?
Apparently women love it. Not that guys can't, just like girls can still like Gears of War... but demographically speaking.

You know I've found the PS3 and 360 cater to young male audience perhaps too much, not a problem for my tastes but sometimes on console online it is a bit of a sausage-fest. I mean 5 out of the 21 friends on Steam are female but not on PSN or the time I was on XBL.

From the beginning, Sims 3 didn't have much to any support for custom content. I haven't heard anything different since then.

Well, I think it reflects on the constant whining of the games industry that I was surprised that the title meant pirates and not illegal downloaders.

Just for the people who've said "They're making expansions and stuff packs that should have come with the game" etc, if they held off and spent time designing all this new stuff the game would never be released.
I'm a huge Sims addict, it's a guilty pleasure but if the core game was all we had it would get really boring after a while.
It's not like we pay full price for expansions and stuff packs and they only come out a couple of times a year. I own every single expansion from The Sims 1, 2 and 3 now because I also have kids who enjoy it.
You always have the choice not to get it.

P.S Don't shout me down and assume I'm made of money because I'm not.

They're going to have to come up with something far better to get me to go back to the sim games. I'm still praying for Sim City 5 of some other advanced city builder to come out.
Yes, we're all waiting for Sim City 5.
Come on, EA. Release Sim City 5 in good quality and DRM-free and I'll forgive you for what you did with Sim City Societies and Spore.

Well, maybe not from shore to shore, but it'll add a brand new pirate-filled world at least. Barnacle Bay features 50 new characters to find including gypsies, ghosts, and pirates

Who doesn't? I know it gets a lot of hate but I think almost everyone can appreciate the game. I loved to play it and even now I still enjoy it greatly, for the architecture alone.

Wouldn't even have to be DRM-free. Steamworks would be completely acceptable.
