There's a really lovely, quaint little corner of the world in Manchester called Moss Side. I urge you to spend some time there. Fine cuisine; exquisite architecture; and the locals are ever so welcoming.

I'm currently lamenting the 1 Year Anniversary of my own trip to Europe so I'm desperately jealous of you.

I don't exactly know what your into but if you don't speak the native language of the country you're visiting, it's better to be a "little" bit touristy. Overall I'd recommend doing a bit of your own research to decide what you want to do.

Personally I'd recommend...

Visiting Notre Damme early in the morning on a weekday, it's not very crowded and it's very serene.

Hitting EVERY MUSEUM YOU CAN in London, since they're all free/by donation.

Going to a small wine town in France (I'd reccomend Chinon, near Tours, it's a lovely little place).

Wandering the streets of Paris and Rome, both are unique and fascinating places full of history.

Now, I am European, but If I could go anywhere in Europe right now, I'd go to Chernobyl, perhaps not the best vacation resort, but I think it'd be an incredible experience to have a tour of the Zone (with a guide of course).

I don't have alot of experience about Europe except from my local area. Although I like history, when I go to places I look for historical places of battle etc.

Still, not as annoying as that time on a forum...

"your from europe? how do u speak english?"
Bah, that's nothing. I read an article in one of the biggest newspapers we have in Germany, about 4 years back I think. It contained questions from American students to German students about our country. Here are the top 3:
3. - "Is it true that your girls don't shave their armpits?"
2. - "Is Hitler still your president over there?"
And the winner is...
1. - "Are there currently any troubles at or around the German-Chinese border?"
*sigh* Sadly, these are the idiotic kind of questions I hear almost every day. (I'm American btw) Hell, I even had a teacher think that all Russian women* were ugly and behemoth like, because he grew up with Cold War propaganda. Apparently, he's never used Google before...

*Something along these lines, but manlier and scarier.

Poland. It may not seem like much of a place but give it a chance. There's a beautifal town called Krakow, with the greatest salt mines ever. Seriously, give it a chance. The Miners were all rather religious, so they actually hollowed out a cathedral and seperate chapel inside the mines. I know what you're thinking, you think it's gonna be some crudely thrown together chambre with a lump resembling an altar. That's what I was expecting, and my god did they prove me wrong. It's one of the most breathtaking views ever when you walk in, and are confronted with a full fledged cathedral, underground, with very clean air, a copy of The Last Supper dug into the wall and the biggest evil supervillian lair vibe EVER. That, and it's also quite near to Auschwitz. Not a great way to spend a holiday, I know, but it's definately worth going to. History lessons cannot begin to show just how terrible the camps were, and that Auschwitz Tour is well worth it. It's not happy, but it's just one of those incredibley interesting things that you just have to see given the chance.

Let me ad to that:
- Eat fries and chocolates in Belgium, then try the beer!

I managed to pull off these three ;)

I could also add...

- Eat Ice Cream in Italy (best in the world, seriously)

- Eat a Bagguette by hand in France (the bread is different there, really)

- Eat Expensive Curry in London (treat yourself, its worth it)

- Eat anything and any restaurant in Lyon, France. It's the food capital of France, that should suggest something.

I'm conflicted. Should I laugh at this man's ignorance or burst into tears of pity because he doesn't seem to know that Russia keeps spawning women so hot they'll make your eyeballs sizzle? ...

Haha, you're welcome, was worth it though I bet. I actually considered saying something to that teacher, because he was speaking for both Russian and Ukrainian girls, and my grandparents came over from Ukraine, thus indirectly insulting my family. However, I was surrounded by so many idiots at the time (that agreed with him! poor sods...), that I didn't even bother.
