The first thing I saw of it, I thought "pilot's fault". But then I heard more on the tale. Apparently, he saved their lives. Now, since a flock of Canadian geese destroyed the engines. I can only assume that Canada has declared war on us. Not. Anyway, what do you think about the near-tragedy?

Well my father works at LaGuardia Airport and the last transmission was that he was shutting down the engines because of the flock of birds that got sucked in. So, now that that part of the conversation is taken care of, onto how I feel about it.

I think that he did a fantastic job and handled it the best he could and anyone could for that matter. He saved all of those people that day. It will definitely go down as one of the most amazing aeronautical saves ever.

It's not the tank that'll get you. It's the Mounties.

Yes, that's all I know about Canada. Oh, and the lumberjacks.

They're okay. I hear they sleep all night and work all day. And something about cross-dressing.

On topic - there's only one thing to do when animals attack: extinction.

What about their maple syrup? Imagine how sticky they could make everything with a few million maple syrup bombs?

It would be the end of days!

Honestly I'm glad everyone is alright, but I hope that no-one pulls a law-suit out of this. I see it way too often, and it's really discouraging. One minute they are praising the pilot and crew for their work, and the next they are saying how responsible they are.

Hero today, villain tomorrow.

Don't apologize. It's true. Hooray for Canada!

That guy is a really great man for saving all those people and when I fly, I want him as my pilot!

Some times it is no ones fault. So we do what Americans do. Blame the French.

... or Canada(to nice for too long) or Germany(damn Nazis!) or...

Ok, the way we prevent this in the future is all planes install tiny turrets over the engines which will then be manned by Mexican squirrels, who better to shoot down Canadian geese than Mexican squirrels

From what the press are saying here, the pilot has been flying since USAF in his early 20's, is an airline safety consultant and lectures in catastrophe management.

So basically it's like John Mclaine being there if you were in an armed siege.

Anyway its was birds flying into the plane, nothing else to it apart from a really good pilot.

Nobody else has said it yet so I will!
The aliens did it. Probably as some sort of diversion so they could do something fiendish with an anal probe!

Yeah, that pilot did a bang up job. People who saw the plane crash into the Hudson said it looked like it gently glided down into the water. After it crashed the pilot was apparently walking up and down the aisles making sure everyone was okay why they disembarked from the plane. A well handled emergency all around.
