Sit at home and play video games, maybe a bit harder in recognition. Unless I happen to have something else already planned, then I'll do that and not mention it's my birthday.

Feh... my 25th was the big Wine & Cheese shindig. My 26th will likely consist of me taking the lead course (rock climbing) and then having a drink to celebrate. I'm done with big birthdays for a while, methinks. I might have one at 35 to celebrate reaching my sexual peak (a big, sexy party with penis-shaped everything, for no reason other than to make the older ladies uncomfortable) or something, but other than that... birthdays feel less and less exciting as they continue to come and go.

Enjoy your 20th!

I'll be 19 next month. Have no idea what ill be doing. Last year for my eighteenth I didn't really do anything either, didn't even get any presents, which normally wouldn't of bugged me if my parents weren't the only ones who said happy birthday. Yeah, my birthdays have kinda sucked the last couple years. /sadpony.

and in place of a birthday cake, get a Junior's cheesecake (the boyfriend got one for his birthday, and seeing as it was really good and it means I won't have to bake a cake, it seems like a good idea).
Make him bake this cake
Mississippi Mud Cake
Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 cup self rising flour
1 1/2 cup pecans (optional)
4 sticks of butter
2/3 cup of cocoa
2 tablespoons of vanilla extract
1 7oz jar of mashmellow cream
1 pound of powder sugar
1/2 cup of can milk

Instructions:
Combine first four ingredients and 3 sticks of butter, 1/3 cup of cocoa and 1 tabelspoon of vanilla in large bowl, mix well
Pour into 9X13 pan and bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes
spread marshmellow cream over hot cake and let cool
mix powdered sugar, can milk, 1 stick of butter, 1/3 cup of cocoa, 1 tabelspoon of vanilla into a bowl, then spread over cake
If I can make it, he can make it.
I really want the cheesecake (they're really good) and the boyfriend can't go into the kitchen without breaking something/setting something on fire/exploding something, so it's no real biggie (ok, so I don't like the walk to the place, but oh well).
Or just bake it yourself :D I promise you won't regret it.

Well, unless you actually wish to avoid diabetes and your arteries clogging and it might also be too rich for you (I've met people who can't eat more than a bite or two)

Christ... it's going to be my 21st.

I don't know what to do. I'll be sharing it with my brother, but I dont want a 21st or anything because... I dont really have many friends to invite (and he has more friends than me, even though they are all on the other side of the country).

But I have to do something right?

... It reminds me that when you grow up with someone under the same cirsumstance, and you share a lot of similarities then there is going to be some comparison.

Uhhh yeah sorry, dont know where that came from
You really don't. I mean, who's going to scold you for not having a conventional birthday party?
It's not just any birthday, it's my 21st. 21st are kind of supposed to be a big deal and its not uncommon to have a big party.

Or something else, my mum suggested well all go on a trip or somthing
What's the point in following a useless social convention if it's going to make you unhappy? You're an adult, you can do whatever the hell you want.

On topic: I'm not too bothered about doing something for my birthday anymore. If i can be arsed to arrange it I might do something like mountainboarding, otherwise I'll probably just hang out with friends like normal.

Hadn't really thought about it as it's early September, but now that you mention it my last birthday was so lame I was sort of thinking I should plan this one and now is a good time to start.

I'd love it if there were some Festival to go to, that would be ideal, but sadly September is well after fest season. Maybe I'll just get a friend who happens to be renting a house to just throw a huge party that I can DJ, that sounds pretty epic. I'll just have to keep my eyes open for got events otherwise I suppose. Also a hike during the day with good friends sounds like a good plan

Also: Happy Birthday (I know I'm early, but the odds of me getting to say it again are slim), I hope the day turns out beautiful for you.

My 20th was just a couple weeks ago, it was just another horribly depressing do-nothing day. Here's hoping my life has improved by the time I turn 21! *Spoilers!* It won't...

I'm turning 25 on December 21st, will probably just relax and enjoy the day, it's not like the world is going to end or anything, so no rush.
Birthday Bro fist (seriously, a lot of people have this date as the birthday).

OT: Uh.. Next year I'm 20, so probably absolutely nothing special is going to happen. Except the end of the world and all that jazz.

When I'm 21, I plan on not remembering anything for two days after.

I'll be 21 when it hits October 5th so I am pretty sure my parents will take me to Las Vegas to celebrate me becoming an official, legal adult who can drink (but I won't drink, nor gamble even.) My parents have done this for my two brothers when they turned 21 so my fate is the same as their's.
Ive been able to drink for 2 years now..its strange that if I were american I wouldnt be able too (not that that stops anyone over 18 I imagine)

I'll probably be in the UK when it happens, sitting in a tiny dorm room halfway around the world, in the middle of winter. Wow that's going to be depressing.

I had my 39th a couple of weeks ago, and it passed without anything happening. I can't see 40 being any different really. I don't have much in the way of RL friends, and those I do don't really 'do' parties and the like.

Still, I have people that care about me, that's more important than cake and balloons really :)
