I think ruling the world would be a giant pain in the ass. Everyone would always want something from me. I'd much rather be a figurehead and let someone else do all the heavy lifting that way I get all the benefits but some other schmuck is doing the work.

Ah yes I have almost forgotten. As Royal Blood you would have ties to every Royal Family in Greater Europe. It would be no small feat to get those countries to join you, willingly or nicht.

The idea isn't that far fetched, but just randomly smashing black holes probably won't cut it. A wormhole is a tear in the four dimensional "fabric" of the universe, the physical attraction we call gravity is caused by this same fabric flexing around objects with mass. the more dense the mass, the greater the flex. A singularity represents the only known naturally occurring force that might be strong enough to actually rip a hole under the right conditions.

Of course, even if you managed to pull it off, and the hole actually does go somewhere, getting anything other than pure energy to pass through it is an entirely different problem. We are talking about flying a ship into a gravitational field whose strength is effectively infinite from our POV.

Then there's all the weird effects on the local flow of time such an event would almost certainly have. If one could pass through, exactly what will happen is anyones guess, but one of the more likely possibilities is that you arrive millions or billions of years after you entered. You might even get to witness to latter stages of the heat death of the universe.

Yeah, how to design a ship that might survive the wormhole trip was one of those problems we decided not to worry about too much - it was somewhere between "we'll cross that bridge when we come to it" and "Why not roll the die...".

To be fair, there were relatively less problematic variants to the plan, like building an orbital station near the moon/Mars, and/or just flying to the next star (under stasis if the whole inorganic body thing didn't work out lol). There was even one version where we would make 'precision' targeted strikes against humans until only they were wiped out (besides the few we hand-picked), but all other life on the planet was spared, and we would set up base on Earth.
