I think its pretty obvious that the only way to experience VtM:BL properly is playing at night.

I mean, come on. You're a VAMPIRE.

When playing games like Bioshock, Dead Space, etc., I have to play during the day.

I know, it can take away from the experience, but I've never been able to handle horror or tension. I get too worked up and shake, but I wish I could. After trying over and over, I hope one day I'll be able to do it.

My friend would only play any Silent Hill game at night, with the lights off in his room. Apparently, one of his friends watched him play it like that once. Jumped so bad that he had to turn on the lights and stop playing because his friend couldn't take it.

I really don't see how playing games like Bioshock Infinite in the daytime would enhance the experience at all, in my opinion this only applies to horror games, where the effect of fear is enhanced by your real life surroundings, by playing in the dark with headphones on etc.

I don't really care about certain time, I can immerse myself in any game at any time if I feel like it. The only exception is Dota 2 that I usually play at evenings because it's the only time when me and my friends have corresponding free time.

I prefer to play BF3 in the evenings because there are less kids/uni students/bludgers online then. I don't get to very often because of my working hours. I always seem to be playing in matches with about 60% recon snipers who don't deploy SOFLAM. I've gotten pretty good at trolling them with the assault class though.

SS2 should only be played at night with headphones though, as should Condemned.

I recently bought F.E.A.R(also 2&3) and I can say that palying at night certainly adds to the creepy factor, but as a rule I don't play games past 10pm so most of my gaming takes place in the daytime or evening.

Oh definitely, particularly with darker games. Playing Bioshock 2 at night while it's raining outside is pure bliss.

I only played Amnesia at night to get the most out of it.
Still didn't really scare me though.

Also I only play Thief games at night. It just feels appropriate.

Also lol no one ever plays Animal Crossing at night.

I kinda feel weird playing any game during the day if it's sunny out, like I should be outside enjoying the world not indoors in front of a monitor.

Really immersive gaming is always best late at night, long play session, no distractions, accidentally staying up till dawn.

Well, for a while, I played Persona 3 late at night, because this was both convenient for me and because of the plot-related Dark Hour of dealing with Shadows.

Good luck playing this piece of ass without sunlight, the game needs you to literally play it in direct sunlight, otherwise your weapons don't work.
Oh my god... I remember this game. I never played it but I had a friend play it and tell me about it. I never heard of it since then and only kept it in memory, slowly beginning to think it was an urban legend. But I can see the horrors are true. What hath God wrought?

OT: I always played Bioshock at night with the lights off. Though it never really gave me a sense of tension, unfortunately. Try as I might, I guess it just doesn't happen to me. :/

I play any game I want at any time regardless of what time it is. I can blacken the room where I have my PC, or adjust the lights to the point that I can't see what happens on the screen. I usually play all my games in a totally dark room with a 27-inch monitor.

Day and night only have meaning when it's weekday as I need my sleep in order to function properly at work.
