It's not the video games fault for being fun, it's the parents fault for allowing young children who aren't mature enough to play games. The parents should atleast try to monitor their children's time on games aswell.
I disagree.
I am 13 and i sincerely doubt me being too young to watch this considering that i am working on math stuff of a 17 years old , getting A's at school without even trying , And have ideas that if anyone could ever stop stereotyping me for the screamy 13 years old asshole , they could bring down the entire education system of Israel.
Age has nothing to do with it , it is the personality that counts.

PS: I watched saving private Ryan and wept a tear at the ending.
The beginning tho , was nothing short of fascinating (coming from a guy who reads entire wikipedia pages about WW2).

Why are so many people saying video games ARNT addictive? they ARE addictive, they are designed to be, they are learning new ways to make them more addicting because it makes them more money, i cant listen to anyone who thinks games ARNT addictive even if there right about something else. If they can hook someone up to a machine that reads their brain and see what coke does to them, then do the same thing with a person playing video games, and find similar effects, than thats pretty good on them, but i'd still like some other examples of things that produce similar 'effects', like chocolate for example.

EXTRA! EXTRA! PLAYING VIDEO GAMES WILL MAKE YOUR CHILD A RACIST, CRACK-ADDICTED PROSTITUTE MURDERER! I honestly thought this was a joke article when I saw it. I would feel stupid explaining why this hack is wrong, its just not worth the time and effort.

Right now in the Dominican Republic there is a man who has had priapism for 28 days, because he was doing coke, no joke, it's on the local news site. I don't remember having a month long chub from playing video games. Comparing games to drugs is goddamn stupid.

What kind of colleges produce these people? For f***'s sake, Video games are nothing like crack! if it were, I wouldn't want anything to do with it. And parents should really monitor the gaming habits of young children anyway. Just like they should know what the f***ing M rating is for! *rage*

I love it how when I stop playing video games, there is a good chance I will get on the internet to talk about video games :D

In all seriousness, its a problem, but only if your stupid. I mean, I play video games alot, but I manage to have a pretty successful social life, not kill people, and keep straight As, ahh high school/ college, and work.

Anyways, I have a hooker to kill. toodles everyone.

If only those fantasy worlds weren't so much better than parents at entertaining their children in the modern age, eh? I don't see how many "experts" can't realize the blindingly obvious problem; parents either don't care enough or are too busy working to provide for their family and pay bills to spend time with them any more. It's extremely sad.

Playing a few games with your kids is a great way to bond with them though... I don't see many parents taking just a few minutes to do that either.

I hate posts like this. Not the OP but idiot therapists who think they know what they are talking about when it comes to video games.
Video games are in no way similar to doing a line of coke....

One 49-year-old mother who wished to remain anonymous bought Call of Duty [http://www.callofduty.com] for her son but realized only in hindsight what an impact it had on him. "Now that I look back on it, it's like I went out and bought him his first shot of whiskey," she said.
I know there isn't an age mentioned for the son but it seems like Call of Duty was purchased for a minor which means she ignored the M-rating on the case other wise the guy would/could have bought it themselves anyway.

Though I really don't get how parents seem in capable of stopping thier kids from playing. Like the part where one said they'd jump out a window? Say:If you do that you won't be playing at all then right?

Does anyone else find it ironic that his name is 'Pope'? Maybe this is some sort of weird Catholic conspiracy to destroy entertainment so we'll all go back to reading bibles (Logic roolz).

More of a Pot addiction, you want it more than you need it.

I have a cone of bud roughly about once every two weeks and play 1-2 hours of video games a night after I get back from my course after living my day on a healthy balance of a good diet and regular excersise.
what are you talking about 2 hours is NOTHING

"Computer game addiction can also spiral into violence as after playing violent games, they may turn their fantasy games into reality." After reading a line like that I just see a huge [CITATION NEEDED] box after it.

I may worry that my co-worker is a disguised enemy spy, and hence try to set fire to her (just in case), but I don't. Dolt.

"I saw one 14-year-old Preston boy who played on games for 24 hours non-stop and had not eaten and was showing signs of dehydration. When his parents tried to take his console away, he became aggressive and threatened to jump out of a window,"

Stop the fucking press, we've hit the mother lode!
